If I remember correctly, the term refers to an intake manifold that was designed for the 426 Hemi engines. But I could be wrong. At least it's not green.

I don't know about the "real" roaster, but I just got the kit and I am doing an unboxing review video of it.

So far I am loving every part of this kit, and the wheels along make it worthwhile to have one in your collection.

I remember these. Never actually cooked on one, but I did warm some sandwiches and try baking a potato lashed to the exhaust manifold of my Triumph GT6. Maybe we need a thread about cooking with engine heat. "Now, you're cooking with gas !!!"

If you don't spray the insides with PAM, it's hard to get your breadloaf out of it after you bolt it up, put the carbs on, and make a 1/4 mile run.

In regards to the newly avail 32 ford kit , It doesn't .

This manifold was produced back in the 70's and was called the Rat Roaster. It's a play on names . meaning roast the rat ( aka big block chevy)

The were designed with and avail with interchangable tops to accomodate different applications / classes .

member Bartster just sent me a resin inline 2 four version for 1/25th scale.

PS, these intake top lids were avail in inline 2 fours and a crossram 2 fours (both shown above) , a single four dominator base , and I think???? a sixpack 3 two barrel holley setup

allowing multiple applications without ever removing the base from the motor.

One of the problems with them they were prone to puddling fuel in them and if it backfired it would blow the top off the manifold.

Friend of mine had one on his 1968 Hemi Dart but has since changed it to a more correct crossram with 2 holleys.He was never impresed with how the car ran with a dominator versus the crossram.

I appreciate the explanations .. I wasn't trying to be a smartbutt.

I remember just meat wrapped in aluminum foil in the engine compartment, though. ... divide cooking time by number of cylinders.
