Davewilly Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 This one turned out really cool for a quick build. The Boyds red looks Great in the Phoenix sun.
rmvw guy Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 This one makes a very nice box stock model. You did a great job on the paint.
Chris White Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 Red and black always look slick on a hot rod, nice job. I been lookin at this kit for a while. Was it a easy build, or an "old mold"
Sixties Sam Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 Very nice clean build. The finish is great - kind of an understated elegance, not overcomplicated. Well done! Sam
slusher Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 Thats a nice paint finish and great stance. Super nice build...
Davewilly Posted February 1, 2013 Author Posted February 1, 2013 Thanks everyone! Chris- It was an easy build not much clean up or fuss...this was the one released in the late 80's early 90's I was a fun build I have another one to build and want to detail the engine and chassis this time
blunc Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 this is a monogram kit and should be easy to find, I saw one on the shelf yesterday at a local hobby shop. I have the "Lemon Crate" (yup, it's molded in yellow) version that monogram marketed in the 80's.
realgone58 Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Wow, your's looks great! I did this with mine. This kit is kind of crude to build, but we chose it for our club builds last year.
Ridge Rider Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 Looks great, love the look of that front end. Glad to hear it's a nice kit, been wanting to get one, and that color rocks. Clancy
Toner283 Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Thanks everyone! Chris- It was an easy build not much clean up or fuss...this was the one released in the late 80's early 90's I was a fun build I have another one to build and want to detail the engine and chassis this time Looks great! This was always one of my favorite models when I was a kid. You have done it justice for sure. One small correction. This kit was originally first issued in 63 or 64. It was one of the original Monogram 3 in 1 kits. The tooling has survived very well, considering the number of times it has been reissued over the years. It is kind of a bummer knowing how many or the cool original custom parts and options have disappeared over the years though. Mint unbuilt original kits are worth big money if you can find one. The good news is that this kit has just recently been reissued again. it is blue on the box art but otherwise looks the same as the last (red truck on the box) issue. Plus the newest issue has a new tonnau (?sp) cover included that has not been in the last couple of issues and is different than the cover issued with the original kit.
