blackace183 Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 What ever you think will look good i wanna hear lol.
Jairus Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Build a modern version of "Corvette Summer"?
Custom Mike Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 (edited) Jairus, do we really need to be reminded of that wreck of a Corvette? That was a hideous car! Edited February 10, 2013 by Custom Mike
Jairus Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Just for that Mike, I just might do a sketchpad illustration of what one would look like! HA! (Imagine what an older and wiser Mark Hamill/Anne Potts would look like in the car too...)
Custom Mike Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 (edited) At least fix that hideous hood and weird headlights, the rest might be salvageable...BTW, I built a model like this not long after this movie came out to try to fix this mess. I wish I had pics of it, it came out decent enough that it fueled my fire for customs! Edited February 10, 2013 by Custom Mike
Draggon Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 I like Jairus' idea. Or how about a modern American version of the Ferrari Breadvan?
Harry P. Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 That has to be one of the ugliest cars I've ever seen...
mikemodeler Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 At least fix that hideous hood and weird headlights, the rest might be salvageable...BTW, I built a model like this not long after this movie came out to try to fix this mess. I wish I had pics of it, it came out decent enough that it fueled my fire for customs! I thought that car was an ugly puke job back then and it still is! Everything bad about the 70's custom car craze is reflected in that car, including cheap foglights from the automotive department at KMart!
Scale-Master Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Well, it was supposed to have been built by a high school kid in the story, so doesn't its styling and choice of bolt-on parts fit?
Joe Handley Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Well, it was supposed to have been built by a high school kid in the story, so doesn't its styling and choice of bolt-on parts fit? That could depend on the chemicals used during the design process............
tooltas Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 find a 64 to 67 c3 vette use the body on the 2013 zr1 vette would be cool a west coast custom car or widebody it
robertw Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Cut off the top to turn it into a convertible, add the back deck from the snap ragtop, add chrome roll over hoops, spruce up the interior with some exterior matching colour, add lots of carbon fibre, come up with a better grill, widen the fenders a bit, do something diferent with the fender grills. It would be subtle but different. You could also try to add some of the features of the new C7 with hood/fender grills, wierd shaped tail lights etc.
Custom Mike Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 That could depend on the chemicals used during the design process............ Joe, you owe me a monitor....it's now covered in Diet Dew!
Joe Handley Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Joe, you owe me a monitor....it's now covered in Diet Dew! Spewed the Dew eh? :p :p
Custom Hearse Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 (edited) Spewed the Dew eh? :P :P LOL!!!! There are 2 of those original Corvette Summer cars in existence. One was the car they used for stunts, and one for close ups. I have seen both in one place, and was told that I could buy the stunt car for $10,000.00, or the show car for $50,000.00(in 1980). If I had the money I definitely would've bought the car... Edited February 12, 2013 by Custom Hearse
Jairus Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 (edited) I agree with Mark. The car fits the movie to a "Tee"! So.... if you don't like it then... what would a "Corvette Summer" car look like TODAY if built by a kid today? (But, one should use some styling queues from the original due to continuity you understand.) Edited February 12, 2013 by Jairus
