Blown03SVT Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 I was going to say... first? You must be an IPMS guy venturing over into the car world. Very nice
TFchronos Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 Cool car, love the color and detials, nice job on your first car.
Yahshu Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 If this is your 1st car & you get a paint job like that, I'm giving up building. Very nice Mopar.
IMPALA SS 427 Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Your first?.. It looks incredible, looks almost real and the detail is great. truly awesome.
Modlbldr Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Great looking build! What paint is that and how did you apply it. It looks electric! Later-
v264 Posted February 17, 2013 Author Posted February 17, 2013 Thank you very much for your kind words!Eric - You’re right, it may look like this Tom - it looks electric, because it is a little like a “home-made” Candy. I saw clear orange lacquer named Aranchio in a paint shop (Spies Hecker) and bought 50ml. After putting on primer, I painted the model with silver lacquer and then put on 3 coates of Aranchio, 2 of clear lacquer and polished it.
Modlbldr Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Thanks for the reply. The paint is really beautiful. It's amazing how the silver can really make a paint pop like that. I'm going to try it by using Tamiya Silver leaf under Tamiya Mica blue aftet looking at this build and another where they used Mica red. Thanks again. Later-
baloney Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 wow! that's some very nice paint you got there. 5 star. it's very nice. well done.
