Revell '49 Merc with Modelhaus Body

Recommended Posts

Hi

I was playing with my new camera and took some fresh pics of an older build. I built this for my Wife as these are her favorite. She picked out the colors, wheels and overall look of the car and I built it to spec. The crazy engine bay is all me as she didn't have any strong opinions about that!

The Modelhaus body is gorgeous and fits like the kit part. I want to order another one and build my own version in candy red with a full house flattie in the engine bay!

Thanks for looking!

Speaking of which what are the colors, especially the dark plum (or is it black and I'm just seeing things?). Got a buddy who's looking for a dark plum/purple.

I started with a HOK Pavo purple base coat and then mixed some left over candy red and blue for the top coats so it turned out to be a custom candy plum. I sprayed about 4 heavy coats of the candy mixture.

You know, everytime Rod does something it improves over the last one finished. Would like him to post his first model he did about 15 yrs ago and everyone can see the improvement. How do you improve on profection. Very nice and clean and WOW. You should see this car in person and in the sun(outside) It just POPS!!!!!!!
