tyrone Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 (edited) What's up fellas... this is an older build that got put on the back burner but after looking around in here the past few days I've gotten the spark to go ahead and finish it... I took the amt longbed kit and shortened the bed.. A fellow member on here pointed out to me that I should have shortened the bed behind the rear wheel wells too.... I'll remember that for my next project.... the chassis and engine and drivetrain are from the r/m 67 Chevelle pro street kit... I got the M/T rear tires from the pro street dually snap kit.... here's a few pics to get you all up to speed... Edited September 25, 2014 by tyrone
tyrone Posted March 9, 2013 Author Posted March 9, 2013 (edited) Thanks Rob... I used the big block engine from the Chevelle kit the intake came from a nascar engine... I was playing around with the ideas of these wheels at one time... This was where I got the idea from... Edited March 10, 2013 by tyrone
tyrone Posted March 9, 2013 Author Posted March 9, 2013 (edited) These wheels are from the dually pro street kit as well... I trimed the pieces out that were between the spokes... I think they look a lot better know... Edited March 10, 2013 by tyrone
tyrone Posted March 9, 2013 Author Posted March 9, 2013 Next I moved on to the interior... the window and door handles are from the parts box, the shifter is from the 67 Chevelle kit... I used wood colored paint, with tamiya clear orange painted over it for the wood trim, and added flocking to the floor... this is where the project kinda stalled..... there will be more updates to follow... thanks for looking and comments welcome...
Randy D Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 Hi Tyrone, Your skills and a truck, I'm in!!!! Which snap kit has the M/T's? Randy
wrecker388 Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 That is pretty cool , but why is it stalled? Looks good from here.
tyrone Posted March 10, 2013 Author Posted March 10, 2013 (edited) Thanks fellas.. I really appreciate it... Randy....Derick right.. it's the AMT prostreet dually....I've lucked up and snagged a few off ebay for 18-20 bucks... Riley... I build alot of drag cars... pro mods are my favorites... And I was playing around with this to take a break from those builds.. and it just got put to the side... but I'm about to get this one wrapped up... Edited March 10, 2013 by tyrone

Alyn Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Love these old Chevy trucks. Great choice going with the stock color scheme.
vintagedragfan Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 very cool short bed Tyrone, gonna be sweet!
tyrone Posted March 13, 2013 Author Posted March 13, 2013 Thanks alot fellas... I really appreciate the kind words... should have some updates soon for ya...
gonzo64nova Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 (edited) You cant go wrong with a C10 ,they look good in just about any style. I think one of those 802 cu. in. Sonnys pump gas(1350 HP on 91 octane!) motors would be just right for this. Those trucks tend to be a little heavy LOL. Good job! BILL Edited March 13, 2013 by gonzo64nova
tyrone Posted September 15, 2014 Author Posted September 15, 2014 Alright fellas... I've pulled this one back out to go ahead and get wrapped up.... I decided to go with a dominator carb.. I sanded the engine bay and repainted it flat black.. I also added the brake master cylinder, washer jug and added some battery cables.. I'm also going to add a msd electronics box under hood somewhere.. here's a few pics... thanks for looking and comments welcome... hood area before... here it is now... here's a few after installing the fuel line.. still need to add the braided fuel hose.. and braided coolant hose..
exesivefire Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 This is really nice. Great look you have going
mike 51 Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 I like the proportions better than a "real" short bed C-10. How much did you shorten it?
Maindrian Pace Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Outstanding, Tyrone. Nobody stances drag cars like you. -MJS
