Bluemiles22 Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Just started this one last week and figured I'd get some pictures up. So far got the body and interior painted both Pontiac engine blue. Also shot the frame edges with the same color to mimic the factory overspray. I'm in the process of masking off the frame so I can shoot it with black, does anyone have a better way of doing this it's kind of a pain lol. Seats and door panels are in the process of being masked for a darker shade of blue and so far I got some foil on the dash gauges. Thanks for looking.
Bluemiles22 Posted March 24, 2013 Author Posted March 24, 2013 Thanks much appreciated! Just a quick update got a little further on the dash, almost done
ChevyCoupe41 Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Beutiful Bel Air! Color is very nice as interior too! I will watch this one closely.
Dr. Cranky Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Wow, impressive foil work. Loving the way this one is turning out.
Bluemiles22 Posted March 26, 2013 Author Posted March 26, 2013 Thanks for the kind comments. Shot the interior with the second color then with some dullcoat to take down the shine a little bit. Also started the foil on the seats and door panels
modelguy45 Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 looks sweet need to redo one i have color is just right
Bluemiles22 Posted March 26, 2013 Author Posted March 26, 2013 Thanks! Hopefully I can get the rest of the frame all masked off tonight and get it painted black. Maybe ill try and pick up some liquid mask, I've never used it before but hopefully it works without too much trouble.
CrazyGirl Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 i sure would like to know how you got Bel Air on the rear fender , i really need to buy a few good books this week on building and detailing
Bluemiles22 Posted March 26, 2013 Author Posted March 26, 2013 Thanks guys and girls ! the badges and scripts are decals from Keith marks. There are a few different ways to do them but the decals are the easiest for me.
jaydar Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 that makes my day. Great job! If it was mine (I wish)I would take a little shine off the interior but otherwise it is perfect. joe.
Bluemiles22 Posted March 30, 2013 Author Posted March 30, 2013 Just a quick update, got my carbs yesterday from mad modeling and I have to say I'm very happy with them. There was absolutely no clean up needed. Also I want to add fuel lines but the pictures I've found look like the fuel line goes into the linkage side of the carb is that right? Any suggestions?
my80malibu Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 I like everything about this build, Great Job.
Bluemiles22 Posted April 1, 2013 Author Posted April 1, 2013 Got a little further on the engine. Started working on the linkage and also started running the fuel lines. Questions and comments welcome, thanks for looking
