vintagercr Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Just learned Annette Funicello passed away today. I fell in love with her after seeing Bikini Beach. I was 8.
Craig Irwin Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Sad to hear, but she's been suffering for a long time. I remember her Mickey Mouse Club sweater fitting her better than most of the other girls sweaters did.
Guest G Holding Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 RIP BABY  I know it was love at first site for me
vintagercr Posted April 8, 2013 Author Posted April 8, 2013 I saw a short piece on her last year and it was very sad. She could not even speak.
daveblev Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 rip annette...another of our childhood heroes/legends-gone, but never forgotten dave
von Zipper Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Sad to hear, I love all those surf movies !!! There's the Surfite in the back ground .
Harry P. Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Bummer. I think she was very ill for many years. She was diagnosed with MS in 1987. And let's not forget Margaret Thatcher... just slightly more important in world history (but didn't look as good in a sweater as Annette)...
Ben Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 I just saw a video where they were asking Britney Spears "Hey Britney, what do you think of Annette Funicello's passing, she was a fellow Mousekiteer? Britney said "I think that's great!" Wow, talk about cold hearted!?
slusher Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 She had been strugging long before 1987 with MS but now they know more about it. She was a very good person from what l have read about her.
CrazyGirl Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 R.I.P. Annette , thanks for all the great joy you have given me and others
Custom Hearse Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 I've seen a few of the beach movies she did with Frankie Avalon... She was much better looking than Frankie! Sad to see an icon go... R.I.P. Annette, you were one of a kind.
disabled modeler Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Britney probably meant she thought it was great she was a Mousekiteer....she is blonde. I remember Annette's moves too...rip.
Ace-Garageguy Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 had no idea she was a Mouseketeer Margaret Thatcher ??
Ace-Garageguy Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 (edited) And let's not forget Margaret Thatcher... just slightly more important in world history (but didn't look as good in a sweater as Annette)... I always thought she was kind of a babe. Well...you know...for a prime minister. Edited April 9, 2013 by Ace-Garageguy
GeeBee Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 And let's not forget Margaret Thatcher... just slightly more important in world history I think a lot of people this side of the pond would disagree with that Harry .....
Harry P. Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 I think a lot of people this side of the pond would disagree with that Harry ..... Agree or disagree with her politics, you can't disagree that she was more important in the overall scheme of things than Annette Funicello was.
Ju Ju Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Agree or disagree with her politics, you can't disagree that she was more important in the overall scheme of things than Annette Funicello was. Ants at a picnic. Who cares who was more important ? R.I.P. Annette=Thanks for the memories......
robertw Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 As a young teen I had a huge crush on Annette and have enjoyed her movies, bad acting, bad stories and all. It was during the filming of Back to the Beach in '87 that her MS symtoms first appeared so she's suffered a long time with that terrible disease so at least she finally released from it. RIP Annette.

bbowser Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Millions of us 'baby boomers' fell hard for Annette, a true Hollywood icon and a classy lady. RIP mousketeers
