Joe Handley
So, anybody here in Chicago got flooding? Sound like it's pretty bad closer to the city.
jaydar
LaGrange, about 6.5"!! Decals dry every up off the floor. No sewer water just seepage. Some of the cracks looked like fountains. Mopping up to start soon then shampooing. Rented plenty at 7:00am. Are you ok? Joe.
Harry P.
I lucked out. I see photos in the paper of all the flooding all around me. But none here... just your run-of-the-mill rain. Sump pumps didn't even go off.
Harry P.
Weather radar shows it's pretty much moved past us, it's on the way east.
Joe Handley
My store's manager is stuck at home, so I'm going in for him. Needless to say, I'm taking the Jeep...........and my camera, just in case
Exotics_Builder
Nope, no flooding. Rain guage showed about 5 inches since Monday. Sump pump was in overtime, but the backup pump never kicked in. The wetlands down the street used as a detention pond is a pond.
slantasaurus
I won't know until I can get a hold of my parents. I'm getting sick looking at pics on the net, a lot of them aren't far from our house. I'm hoping for the best.

Dr. Cranky
Crazy weather! Let's hope it is not followed by another snow storm.
High octane
Lots of rain here bt my sump pump is working just fine. The better half had to take a couple of detours on the way home from work though, and the daughter had to take a detour on the way to D.C. Longbox55
Just a report in from Downstate Illinois; Lots of rain and definitly flooding, but nowhere near as bad as what you fellas Upstate have gotten.
Craig Irwin
I'm closer to Indianapolis but I now have a moat around the house, (I hope the county doesn't raise my taxes for having a "waterfront property") Everything important is off the floors. Under a tornado watch until later tonight. Still nothing like the photos above, you guys be careful!
Harry P.
Several north and northwest Chicago suburbs have issued a state of emergency. The guv was touring the suburbs today, he declared a state of emergency so that people are eligible for federal aid for relocation, housing, cleanup, etc. Geez, what a mess. Joe Handley
Word from home is that our basement just has a little seepage, no flooding. That's good to hear. We got pretty lucky out by me, the worst flooding I saw before going into work was Roosevelt (Rt. 38) in West Chicago where the old EJ&E (now CN) tracks go over the highway by Bowling Green. The Fox River is in flood stages, which could be good considering that if it had gotten much lower, I could have driven my stock 1:1 Cherokee across it in some spots I guess there was a good sized sinkhole that opened up on one street too, gotta feel sorry for the guy who owns this Avenger, not only can't be any older than an '11, but I wouldn't be surprised if he just got it recently

crazyjim
Marcia found some video on Facebook of Four Lakes Village in Lisle. The water is up to the 3rd floor of the apartment buildings and Route 53 is completely underwater. The DuPage River overflowed. I would guess the Fox River is probably going up too. I'm sure glad my Wednesday afternoon flight to Chicago and then Rockford was canceled, otherwise I'd probably be stuck in Illinois.
Harry P.
I read that a woman's brand new 2013 Charger fell into another sinkhole in the area.

From what I understand, there was a call out to private boat owners to come help evacuate peope from Lisle! I read that a woman's brand new 2013 Charger fell into another sinkhole in the area. If it's the same sink hole as in the video I posted, that was an Avenger. Supposedly a woman and her brother both lost their cars to it and that Avenger looked like an '11-'13 model by the looks of the grill and bumper. crazyjim
LaGrange?? I thought they closed it down years ago? I lived in Hodgkins for a few years. A friend sent me a pic of downtown Elmhurst - buried under water.
lordairgtar
We in southern Wisconsin are keeping an eye on our rivers. The Fox at Big Bend was over it's banks. In Muskego, the water seems to find its own course through my back yard.
hacker joe
we had to pump out our basement all night to keep it down to a couple inches but it could have been much worse. Wow you never realize how close people are - I work in LaGrange at Custom Cars Unlimited but live in Palos Hills
