bbowser Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Cool builds. What kits did you use? Love the old modifieds.
slusher Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Really nice builds, very sharp. l also would like to see more...
grt222 Posted April 22, 2013 Author Posted April 22, 2013 Cool builds. What kits did you use? Love the old modifieds. Used the amt 36 chevy wild one kit for the blue car and the amt 35 chevy sedan modified kit for the other.
Silver Foxx Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Great builds on these - gotta love the old modifieds , would be good to see more.
ChrisR Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Nice! Are the wheels aftermarket or the kit wheels?
grt222 Posted April 24, 2013 Author Posted April 24, 2013 Nice! Are the wheels aftermarket or the kit wheels? Wheels are aftermarket. Fronts are PPP wide five's and the rears are Early racing classics(erc). I had the rears for quite awhile and don't know if they are still available or not, but the fronts are widely available still.
GoatGuy Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 They look really good. Do you have any pics of them in progress? I have the AMT '37 Chevy car to do and want to build it like one I saw as a kid in the 60s but I would have to rely on memory or try to contact the previous owner in upstate NY. Who is PPP ?
roadhawg Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 PPP is Performance Plastic Products, which are sold by Early Years Resin.
grt222 Posted April 27, 2013 Author Posted April 27, 2013 They look really good. Do you have any pics of them in progress? I do not have any WIP pics but i have some with the body off. The thing i do with these kits(35 chevy tobias frame) is to lower the body on the frame by not using the interior piece that glues inside the body and cut the notches in the firewall longer(higher) to let the body drop.
JFortner5 Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Those are really cool. My favorite is the sedan too.

Good tip. Thanks.
racefan 777 Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 The beer keg for a fuel tank reminds me in the late 60's I used a portable air tank for a fuel tank in a modified. I too love the looks of the wide 5's. Would be proud to have them on my shelf. They look great nice work!
DrewCfromSC Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 really nice looking stuff! Ive got a few stashed back that im going to have to build soon after seeing this1 Drew C
racedriver25 Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Really digging the ole coach I remember watching those things every weekend.
