James2 Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Built this about four year ago, nothing fancy just a plain Jane kinda build. While waiting on some paint for the Under Slung I figured it's time to do a make over. Just getting started, sorting out parts and cleaning up for new paint. I really like these new wheels from Pegasus. Got it just a bit lower in the rears. Not sure about colors yet, but it will be weathered and worn. Thanks for looking....
crazyrichard Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 cool !! the new wheels look awsome .. paint wise tbh i kind of love the sanded look already !! maybe try to ise some darker washes to make the light spots darker and give it some depth ...
Wonderbread Kustomz Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 I was sad when I saw you were stripping the paint, but when I saw the mockup pic with the whitewalls, I swear you should leave it like that maybe add some different washes to the body for a patina look
James2 Posted May 5, 2013 Author Posted May 5, 2013 Thanks guys. I really want to try some washes and some salt chipping. but I will be doing a little sanded look also. I would like to make the sanded area look more to scale if you know what I mean. The way it looks now is just a sanded model to me.
RocknRolla Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 I think it looks great all sanded down,i will be watching! Im a sucker for patina looking trucks!
James2 Posted May 12, 2013 Author Posted May 12, 2013 Well it does not have the just sanded look, but it is beginning to look a little worn. First attempt at using Sea Salt chipping. I'll still be doing quite a bit of weathering with powders and washes.
W-Machine Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 I'll admit that I was a little sad to see a beating applied to that truck, but the results were worth it. I like it.
James2 Posted May 12, 2013 Author Posted May 12, 2013 (edited) Thank you guys, I may get to work on it some today. I will be dry brushing some age spots and adding some weathering to most of the chrome next. I like your sig, David.^^^ Edited May 12, 2013 by James2
Dr. Cranky Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Man, how did I miss this one? It's a beauty, and a great transformation too. Congrats.
Gluhead Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Very cool...great colors...nice subtle weathering. Pulled it off nicely.
