David G. Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Wow Darren, that dashboard looks great! That shade of gold is perfect, but I think it may be too much for the whole truck. It'll be interesting to watch you make it work.David G.

Be Well GatorGator, I found out the plastic that they use for the bones series is a polymer plastic which is very soft and hard to paint may have to mold then in resin to make them workable.
Darren B Posted October 16, 2016 Author Posted October 16, 2016 (edited) I have been trying to figure out how to paint some hieroglyphics on the trailer, and how to weather the trailer tomb..... Edited October 16, 2016 by Darren B
Darren B Posted October 26, 2016 Author Posted October 26, 2016 decided this will be the graphics for the very back of the tomb trailer, just have to figure out a way to transfer the image to the board....
blunc Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 I have seen acetone "etch" some foams when atomized with a spray bottle...you might try creating glyph masks then etching the foam with acetone.I'm guessing some experimentation may be needed.
Darren B Posted October 26, 2016 Author Posted October 26, 2016 Mike, I actually can just carve the foam with the glyph's, the look I am going for on the trailer is a painted on theme. Here is a couple of pics from a book I have with hand painted coffins or hieroglyphics on a coffin. Did a trace of the first photo art, going to try my hand at hand painting them.
Darren B Posted October 28, 2016 Author Posted October 28, 2016 Been really busy lately so updates are slim to non, actually took a few minutes to try my idea to transfer the art to the board. Came out pretty good now i have to add some color....
slusher Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 (edited) Looks great Darren! You always have some creative ideas brother.... Edited October 28, 2016 by slusher
Darren B Posted October 28, 2016 Author Posted October 28, 2016 Thank you Carl, did some coloring today. I think it will look ok not exactly what I had in mind, but I think with additional weathering it will look ok.
Darren B Posted November 1, 2016 Author Posted November 1, 2016 I finally got around to painting the wings. I have them designed for the trailer on either side, if the paint work for the hieroglyphics takes up more than I have planned instead of putting these on the side of the trailer, I may put them on the bed of the truck as bed rails.... So will see where they end up on the finished product....
David G. Posted November 1, 2016 Posted November 1, 2016 Wow Darren, great progress. Love the color on those wings.David G.
Darren B Posted November 1, 2016 Author Posted November 1, 2016 (edited) Wow Darren, great progress. Love the color on those wings.David G.Thanks David, the colors really pop when they are in the sun light, when the sun comes out this week I will take some pics of them in the sun light. The clear over the gold really set them off. I can see thou I have a lot of touching up to do. I should have masked each color off and spray painted them but that would have taken a lot of time. Darren B Posted November 1, 2016 Author Posted November 1, 2016 (edited) got some color as well on the parts for the aquarium yesterday....Will be working on the rest of the interior and hope to have more soon... Edited November 1, 2016 by Darren B
Darren B Posted November 1, 2016 Author Posted November 1, 2016 the one day I wanted to try to get a good pic in the sun light its over cast now. Had nothing but sun for about three weeks, then an overcast day. I will attempt a better pic when the sun is out. The transparent colors over the gold really glow when in the sun light.
gatorincebu Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 Darren, Looks like you have been busy on this project. I like the transparent paints they look great. Be Well Gator
Darren B Posted November 5, 2016 Author Posted November 5, 2016 Darren, Looks like you have been busy on this project. I like the transparent paints they look great. Be Well GatorThank you Gator.
Darren B Posted November 5, 2016 Author Posted November 5, 2016 Tried the texture paint on the interior of the '32. I really like the looks of this paint.
Darren B Posted November 5, 2016 Author Posted November 5, 2016 For the interior of the truck thou, just going with non texture, flat paint. I am liking the fact of covering up the stock pink HD foam thou, finally getting some good color to this project...
slusher Posted November 6, 2016 Posted November 6, 2016 Looks like you have been getting some bench time. I like your wings you have been working on. I also been meaning to try some textured paint. I think you scored there and it has a stone look to it....

Darren B Posted November 9, 2016 Author Posted November 9, 2016 decided to add some color to the trailer fender pieces as well to match the wings......
Darren B Posted November 9, 2016 Author Posted November 9, 2016 Decided to do a quick mock up of the trailer to see how its lining up, I may not add the wings to the trailer , may paint more hieroglyphics and put the wings on the truck bed. Maybe...
