smellyfatdude Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 Build #3 after resuming the hobby, a few years ago. I was going for a survivor look, as if someone had substituted a six in place of the original V8. So I kept the "V" emblems, and painted in Lemans blue. Topped off with a set of ' 69 Sask. plates.
crazyjim Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 Very nice SHINY :) build. That's about the color of my very first car - '56 Chevy Delray. I put in a 327/325hp, 4 speed, white headers in the wheel wells, station wagon springs to lift it up, '64 Chevy Impala SS interior, chrome reverse wheels in back and Astro slots up front, no front bumper. I loved that car.
realgone58 Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Very nice. Nice to see a stovebolt in there! It's dying for a set of wide whites though.

Hey SFD, where are the running boards...LOL...Don't all cars from Saskatchewan have running boards...Nice work...Isn't Canadian Tire/Parts Source a good place to buy paint? Larger cans and lower price than Tamiya...Next time I have a dealer trade to Saskatoon I will try to call you and we can go for coffee or something to eat...
CSMO Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Hi, SFD. Your six-banger with the V-8 markings reminds me of the old Beach Boys song' "The No-Go Showboat". I have migrated over here for a visit from the Retro & Nostalgia Scale Modeling Forum, to see how the folks on what I call "The Dark Side" live. Your Blue Del ray is a real Beauty. Adios, Larry.
Tom Geiger Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Very nice build. One of my early cars, and certainly the oldest, was a '56 Chevy 210 2 dr sedan. Mine had the six and two speed auto, along with manual brakes and steering. Mine was originally a blue and white two tone, painted by Uncle Earl a bad beige long before I got it. I primed it gray and it stayed that way through both of my ownerships of that car. Yea, I owned it twice.
