Mister Twister Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 This is a phantom or what if build of a stock class racer utilizing a Revell kit with MM paints and clear and a Slixx decal sheet. I made a roll bar and added a tach also. The wheels and tires are from my parts box. Thanks for looking in!
Mooneyzs Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Darryl.. This camaro looks killer bud. Very nice work. I love the garage diorama you shoot these builds in. Totally cool
AZ Boy Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Awesome, Darryl! The diorama it's in makes it look absolutely real.
Mister Twister Posted June 10, 2013 Author Posted June 10, 2013 Darryl.. This camaro looks killer bud. Very nice work. I love the garage diorama you shoot these builds in. Totally cool Thanks fellas! Chris, this dio base is getting some age on it (close to 6 years) and its been to quite afew shows over the years. This kind of background really does make some models pop. Thanks again guys.
3men2s Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 great looking stocker..does it have engine detail..will love to see that.
Mister Twister Posted June 10, 2013 Author Posted June 10, 2013 Sorry Danny....I forgot to mention that I did this as a curbside build.
crowe-t Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Darryl, This is a great build! It's a more 'obtainable' race car for most people. It looks like cars I've seen at Raceway Park in NJ. The garage diorama and the front wheels turned really sells it as a real car. Mike.

Mike,I like most all sportsman drag cas but even after owning a super gas car I still have a keen interest and fondness for top sportsman cars and pro mods. These class racers run some pretty high dollar equipment and engines but they are definitely closer to what could be a street driven hot rod. Edited June 11, 2013 by Mister Twister
W-409 Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Great work on the Camaro! You know I really like the subject, nothing beats Stockers. Nice paint work too. I agree with the others that the garage on the background really looks good also. Great work.
Nitrozilla Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Right on Darryl. Good choice of it being a Jim Yates car. When I lived in Virginia I worked for Merchant's Tire. We got all of our aftermarket parts from Yates Auto Parts. He's a Crew Chief now, right?
Mister Twister Posted June 12, 2013 Author Posted June 12, 2013 Thanks for the great comments guys....Joe, thanks and Jim crews for Allen Johnson Racing. I believe he still has parts stores.
Davewilly Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Great looking 69...and I really love the garage to!
