Steven2 Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Done at last! This took far longer than I ever thought it would even though it wound up being a curbside. I badly miscalculated what it would take to channel the body and that's why the engine (and most of the chassis) got left out. It's built from the AMT coupe kit with the roof cut off, lots of filling in and vacuformed side panels for the bonnet. The windshield is scratchbuilt. The paint is HOK snow white with duplicolor aqua scallops. I wish I had made the ghost scallops a little darker but they are supposed to be "ghosts".
Sixties Sam Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Wow! That's just about the best looking '34 Ford I've ever seen! REALLY well done. The body changes are subtle, but add a l ot to the looks. Great finish, too! Excellent work! Sam
DumpyDan Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Wow, that ever turn out nice, you sure made that kit look good.
PappyD340 Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Now that's a good looking hot rod, very NICE Steven!!
crazyrichard Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 omg thats sooo georgeous !!!! i just love it !!!
CSMO Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Your '34 has got "Fun Ride" written all over it. Well done, sir! Adios, Larry.
John Teresi Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Steven.......that is nice!!!!.......the gold striping really sets it off.......Beautiful build.
Harry P. Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Very nice! Clean, crisp, and uncluttered. And the color scheme and scallops are beautiful. Who needs an engine and chassis when the top side looks this good?
dmk Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Nice! Very clean and tasteful. I love channelled roadsters
Modelbuilder Mark Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 I would say curbside or not, it is still sitting pretty.
Bernard Kron Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Great modeling and craftsmanship. Really quite ambitious at every level and a completely successful outcome! Bravo! Great lines and proportions in the modern rod style. And the scallop job is super smooth and tasteful - love the colors, the gold trim and the ghost flames (which aren't too faint at all...)
Steven2 Posted June 21, 2013 Author Posted June 21, 2013 Thank you everyone. I'm glad the scallops look right to ya'll. I guess it's just that my test sample was darker and that's how I expected to see the car so they look a little faint to me now. I'll probably get used to them, LOL
Pete L. Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 What a really great build...dynamite color combo !!!
