ERIK88 Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Can it be reused after stripping a model car or two in it? When is it time to get more?
Foxer Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 I have a tub of it out in the garage that has been there at least a couple years. Many bodies have gone thru it and more will. All I can tell you is keep dipping 'till it stops.
ERIK88 Posted June 22, 2013 Author Posted June 22, 2013 ok lol sounds good sure saved me a lot of money
PappyD340 Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Erik, when it gets dirty just strain it through a coffee filter into another container, and you will be good to go for awile longer!
Danno Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 There was another thread just like this a couple of weeks ago, and the consensus was the same: It works until it stops working. Then you replace it. If you filter it after each use, it will last a long time.
Art Anderson Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 Also, Purple Power has an industrial alcohol component in it which helps to soften the paint on a model car. This alcohol, like any sort of alcohol, will evaporate over time, which will diminish the action of the stuff as a paint remover. Art
metalhead Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 I've had mine gel up for some reason. Don't know why, just did. RYAN.
hooterville75 Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Same here Ryan. Ive gotten a new bottle but am going to be straining the old to see if I can get some more uses out of it.
Skip Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Don't know but be careful with the jugs, I pour mine back into the jug after stripping a body. I have had two one gallon jugs of Purple Power develope leaks. One brand new jug and another that had stripped four or five bodies, neither was ever dropped while in my possession, both drained dry. Has any one else had this happen? I now store the stuff in the jug in a five gallon bucket, secondary containment system.
