Guest Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Thanks! This one was one of the few builds I intensely focused on.
realgone58 Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Pretty wild! I didn't even know they ever put 4 bangers in these things. Couldn't have been very many of them. I'm doing mine with a straight six. I'm happy they offered this kit with all the non-SS parts. Yours looks great!
lazlow Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 That looks great, Did I understand realgone58 right it comes with the 4&6. I love the off beat cars, first time I saw one I said what idiot would put a 4 cylinder in a nova, well I guess GM was the idiot. I guess we all have bad days. Mind you I am a Chevy guy and some times that's hard to swallow, aaa, GM's part not me being a Chevy man....You know what I men. Laz
Guest Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Thanks again. Yes, 4 bangers are very uncommon, most went into fleet vehicles. I just had to do something different. I have another Trumpeter 6 I am going to make into a 4, and roadhawgster is going to resin cast it. It won't be Modelhaus quality, but should be cool, I have seen his casts, pretty good.
Harry P. Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 In 1969 Chevy built 6,103 Novas with a 4 cylinder engine.
Ace-Garageguy Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 In 1969 Chevy built 6,103 Novas with a 4 cylinder engine. Wow, not a real big seller. Nice build of a very unusual car.
Guest Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Thanks. For those that did not follow my wip, the 4 in here is a cut down Trumpeter 63 Nova 6.
Dominik Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 I love those small engines - like your Nova! Nice detailwork.
von Zipper Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Here she is: I like the idea of a 4cyl. Nova in scale-I had a friend in High School that had one-And I hate to be the guy that sticks a lit cigarette into your balloon> But you have the engine WAY too far forward , with the front of the engine- fan/water pump brought up to the radiator and the bell housing way to far forward-the bell housing should be right under the firewall-there should be a shroud between the core support and the radiator to take up the space for the short 4 cyl.
Guest Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 I know that. This is the first time I have tried something like this, and there were a few things I did not account for. A learning process for sure. I wondered how long it would be till someone brought that up.
Sixties Sam Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Great model! You did a good chop job on that engine. It looks like it was made as a four banger. Very good work. Sam
charlie8575 Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 In 1969 Chevy built 6,103 Novas with a 4 cylinder engine. I'm surprised it was that many. Lee- GREAT build! It's nice to see so much detail lavished on such a pedestrian car. Charlie Larkin
mikemopar70 Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Your Nova is nice! I like the idea of a four banger, i didn't even knew it existed, i tought all novas were six and eight cylinders engined!!! Congratulations, very convincing replica....
