Perhaps you should master a 4 door sedan body and cast it. I'd love to build one too!

Exactly what I was thinking. I'd do the conversion and get a good resin caster to make you copies to modify into each of your Brazilian cars.

Thanks guys!!

Really appreciated!!

Nice Galaxies you have there Sam. The '66 7 Litre as a convertible is a very are car to find in 1:1 scale. Those cars for sure deserve some love.

My brother had a 66 Galaxie convertible, and was slowly restoring it when he died in 2007. I was his heir and executor of his estate and could have kept the car, but I didn't have the time, place, or money to finish it, so I sold it to a guy in Maryland. It was solid - no frame, trunk, or floorboard rust, and had a current inspection sticker. It had a 351 in it, but that was not the original engine. It needed body work, a top, and front seats.

Here's what it looked like when I sold it.

7-10 days for each? Tulio, you are incredible! Each of those is a work of art, i can't even decide on what rims to use in that time!

Those are some mighty fine Galaxies Tulio. I have a facination for Galaxies too, as we had several of them in my family. I have a '65 XL convertible on deck to be built. I have not decided on the color combination yet. I have a '59, which I am going to turn into a 4-Door Hardtop like my uncle had, which was Black, with the Red/Black/White interior.

these cars are not to be seen here ,except for shows/meetings ..

but knowing your skills each one will defenitely be spot on..

amazing work ,super clean builds!

Looks like a solid car . Yep, a 351 is not the original engine. Considering there are two kinds of 351 engines, the Cleveland and the Windsor, I would say that if it had the Windsor 351 it would be easy to make it look like a 289, this one a factory stock engine, as both are small block Fords, and are 99% the same from the outside. You would need the 289 valve covers, air cleaner, and intake manifold to fit the 2BBL carb most 289s had. If it were a Cleveland engine, oh well, you could always trade it even for a 390, or even a 352 FE, or put some cash on and get a 427 with a Top Loader four speed.

Thanks guys!!

The last one I built, the '65, took about two and a half weeks to be completes, as I let the paint to cure a lot before foiling it. It's very cold around here right now, and the automotive clear takes some time to get hard when temperature is under 10 degrees Celsius. I don't use a dehydrator because I had an accident with melted body once.

I think that what makes me build fast is my lack of patience. And the fact I build box stock.

I'm planning to make a four door sedan body, based on the AMT '66, but it will be my first try on this. I have two 1966 Galaxie kits, but I really hope I don't ruin both trying to do it...

As for casting, I have a friend called Rodolfo, a old timer modeler that works with resin for ages, and he can cast bodies for me, IF, and that's a big IF, I can master a decent looking four door body.

The good part is that I have a 1:1 scale four door Galaxie to look at and get the proportions right.

Great modeling Tulio! It's very interesting to see the South American variations of US car designs. Not only the Galaxies, but everything from Willys cars and pickups, Mavericks, Novas and the cars spawned off the old US Dodge Dart! And I've been meaning to try to build one of the old Chevy pickups of the late 1950s to early 1960s.

Considering the short distance, I'm surprised these cars haven't made it to US car shows.

You know I love your Galaxies! Seeing them all together is almost overwhelming. Hahaha.

After you started posting I looked into those Brazilian Galaxies. Fascinating that they held the same designs for so long. Many of them still look very appealing, even with what may be considered "odd" later-looking accents. Some even come close to looking better.

I'd love to get my hands on a "late model" Galaxie and deck it out ala the current bellflower fad. That'd sure get some heads scratching. lol.

Just beautiful work. I like your taste in colors alot! Personal favorites:

62, 61, and 60 - in that order as far as color goes. What IS that color on the 62?
