Old Coyote Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 ..... no, not the Terry Labonte cars (shock), ........... the 1983 Piedmont Monte Carlo owned by Richard Childress and driven by Ricky Rudd
PappyD340 Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Very NICE as usual John, very clean you sure do those race cars justice!!
slusher Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Awsume build John, l saw this car on speed last week on a childress special.
Danno Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Beautiful model of a very significant car. Great job, John! The Piedmont-Childress-Rudd collaboration essentially saved RCR from early oblivion. Rudd was recruited because Piedmont wanted a younger driver for the #3 car if they were to sponsor it. They felt RCR's driver was 'too old' and didn't project youth and competitiveness. That 'old' driver? Dale Earnhardt. Rudd had a successful season in the Piedmont 3 car, and the Piedmont deal financially rejuvenated RCR. Then RCR cut Rudd and brought the 'old' guy and his new sponsor ~ Wrangler ~ back to the RCR # 3 car.
Silver Foxx Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 A real great looking build , your work always looks nice.
DrewCfromSC Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 great detailing and story too! Im liking the vintage NASCAR stuff more and more lately. Drew
'70 Grande Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Beautiful build of my favorite Nascar driver's car; always thought that Ricky Rudd deserved more credit than he got during his racing career.
bbowser Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Great model John. Rudd was a charger throughout his career.
