zenrat Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 (edited) Why should it be # 1?... Because chicks dig the car. Sorry, wrong movie. It should be #1 because it was the first car I remember seeing on the TV. Edited August 1, 2013 by zenrat
chevyfever2009 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Because chicks dig the car. Sorry, wrong movie. It should be #1 because it was the first car I remember seeing on the TV. You could buy it if u had enough money u can buy any car
sports850 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 So the Lambo from the Italian Job that died in the first couple of miutes did make the list but the mini's didn't ? Also missed some cool cars from "running on empty" (the Australian movie , not the River Phoenix one ).
ToyLvr Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Here's some more... Beverly Hillbillies '21 Olds Truck; "the Saint" - Roger Moore's Volvo; Chrysler Imperial from the short-lived TV series "the Hero"; 60s Galaxie from "The Andy Griffith Show"; How about the custom Olds Toronado from the detective show "Mannix" Lastly, did anyone mention the Monkeemobile?
CJ1971 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Because chicks dig the car. Sorry, wrong movie. It should be #1 because it was the first car I remember seeing on the TV. It was the 1st car YOU saw on TV... But you didn't make this current list....
Harry P. Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Why should it be # 1?? It's not even a real or normal car. No-one could go down to their local dealership & buy 1. It's a pure fantasy car, not realistic. Whereas the General Lee WAS/IS real. You COULD go down to your local dealership & buy a Dodge Charger. Not only does it deserve its No # 1 spot here but it also claimed the No #1 spot in ( a few years back ) Hot Rod Magazine's Top 100 Most Influential Cars of ALL time, voted on by well known & respected members of the World's car fraternity.... You gotta respect that list. Huh??? Who said anything about it being "real" or "normal" or that you should be able to buy one at a dealership? Where do you get that from??? I doubt you could go to the local dealership and buy Chitty Chitty Bang Bang or James Bond's tricked-out Aston Martin or a talking Trans Am like Knight Rider's KITT... all of which are on the list. The list is supposedly the "greatest" TV and movie cars. Whether the car is "real" or not has absolutely nothing to do with anything.
FASTBACK340 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Who compiled this laughable list of so-so cars?
Helix Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Should be top 100! 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' comes to mind, as a young boy I loved that car !
martinfan5 Posted August 1, 2013 Author Posted August 1, 2013 Who compiled this laughable list of so-so cars? A yahoo at Yahoo did
Tom Geiger Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 So the Lambo from the Italian Job that died in the first couple of miutes did make the list but the mini's didn't ? My thought exactly! The article... written by a 20 year old female summer intern with a 2 hour deadline. Heck, I'm a car guy and there's cars in there I never saw before!
JM485 Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 That Toyota 4x4 at #29!!! That thing was way cool, looks pretty similar to my 1:1 except mine is an 86 and blue.
Custom Hearse Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 Huh??? Who said anything about it being "real" or "normal" or that you should be able to buy one at a dealership? It doesn't matter whether they made a million of them, or it is the only one in existence... It's the style and the lines of the vehicle that makes one love it! I love the '66 Futura!
zenrat Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 It was the 1st car YOU saw on TV... But you didn't make this current list.... First one I REMEMBER. I'm sure I saw other cars on the idiots lantern before The Batmobile but it was the one that stuck.
timc Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 What about the Murf Mobile from Wayne's World? Or Ponch's firebird from CHIP's? The Turbo Interceptor from the Wraith?
Custom Hearse Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 What about the Murf Mobile from Wayne's World? Or Ponch's firebird from CHIP's? The Turbo Interceptor from the Wraith? Do you mean the mirth mobile?
timc Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 Yeah, the blue flamed pacer that Garth drove.I thought it was murf.
lordairgtar Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 (edited) The ZZR Spy car from Out of Sight in 1966. Edited August 2, 2013 by lordairgtar
zenrat Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 I'd forgotten that. It looked so much better as the Catwomanmobile. NOT. How about Lady Penelopes FAB1 (TV series not the poor excuse for a movie)? Not only was it a TV car but also a model. Then there was the racing striped GNX Damien Lewis drove in LIfe and has anyone brought up the Supernaturally creaky doored Impala (or is it on the list - I can't be bothered to go through it again - too much dross).
slusher Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 l am sure some like it but l never thought the monkeymobile looked good...
