Porscheman Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 (edited) I just couldn't wait for Revells new Woodie, so I dug up a Resin convertion body I bought years ago and an unbuilt AMT 49 Mercury to come up with this one. Paint was Tamiya's Mica Red over flat black primer and polished using Macguires #5 new car glaze. All the wood was hand painted and 66 straight pin heads were cut and the body was drill to mount the rivets, replacing the molding in ones.Let me know what you think.Al Edited August 1, 2013 by Porscheman
Ramfins59 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Great job Al. The pin heads are a great idea... bet it took you awhile to drill all those holes..!!
Porscheman Posted August 1, 2013 Author Posted August 1, 2013 Thanks guys. Can't wait for Revells new kit, I have pin heads left over.
slusher Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Outstanding build Al. Real nice work. Keep posting your builds, l enjoy seeing them...
realgone58 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Very nice. Before I read the description, I looked at the pics and wondered "Where'd he get one of these already?" Thought about the old Mod Squad deal. This one came out very convincing.
Silver Foxx Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Beautiful build , so nice , now I can't wait for the kit release.
Porscheman Posted August 2, 2013 Author Posted August 2, 2013 Thanks everyone for your nice comments. The trans-kit fit the AMT chassis perfectly. This was a fun build, even the pin heads were fun. LOLAl
charlie8575 Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 That came out beautifully. The color is very nice. Charlie Larkin
