Pretty funny. Looks like a candidate for the 24 Hours of LeMons.

"A 28-year-old in China has built the world's 22nd copy of the Lamborghini Reventon, sort of, err... not quite. This young man has exercised his entrepreneurial skills to machine shop a sort of FrankenLambo together from a mix a sheet metal, spare parts, and unworthy automobiles."

As I've mentioned before in other threads, a gearhead is a gearhead, no matter where he's from.

Just imagine what the guy would do if he had access to a typical American junkyard....

Granted, it's an accomplishment to make ANYTHING that goes down the road out of junk, and especially when one lives in a culture where such things are not encouraged.

It would be ever so much MORE impressive had the proportions turned out something like the real car. Measure, measure, measure.

Measure what? A real one?

Go on the internet and download photos? The government controls the internet and heavily censors it. The guy didn't exactly have a lot of reference material to go by.

Quite true, the Chinese have some of the most stringent Internet restrictions on Earth. The only country that's worse is North Korea and the small African nation whose name escapes me at the moment that actually blocked all TV signals from in or out of the country until about 3-5 years ago.

Given his restrictions, he did a pretty darn good job with it.

It's not much but you have to admire his determination.

Absolutely, and his accomplishment is quite something given the restrictive environment. Still, proportions count, and I'm sure there are enough pretty pictures of Lambos available to have gotten a little closer. Things CAN be quite well scaled from not-the-best reference material...this I know as fact.

Dreams start from nothing , determination is what counts , most of us probably could not manufacture what he has done.

That thing would probably be a hit here in the good ole USofA, a little red paint a couple headlights some immatation leather and one of those big fat ticked off bumble bee mufflers, shoot you wouldn't be able to make em fast enough!!

I give him a LOT of credit, how many people have ever even attempted to build a working car from scratch ? Plus the thing really runs !

I think a lot of people aren't taking into consideration that he has a total of $10K in the whole car. I can imagine that there were a lot of different tools and machines he had to gain access to. And if he only had a budget of $10K, I would think those tools mostly belong to someone else. Under the circumstances, I think he did well. As far as the quality work, this just may be the best he could do. At least he got the thing to hold together so that it's not a danger to everyone on the road. He sure drives better than the guy in the van on that video. He almost took out that pedistrian.
