Next build.... a hot rod updated 8-- 28

Next build will be a 25 Ford hot rod using the AMT double T kit. I will do some small modifications. First will be a change to the body. I am going to cut off the turtle deck and replace it with the short pick up bed. I also plan on swaping the V8 engine for the straight 6 from the 53 Corvette kit. Other changes may happen but it's too early to know for sure.

Thanks Guys. Have not decided on a color yet but was thinking perhaps white with a red interior and red wheels. Not sure however. I was also considering a primer look but I don't think so.

This is a great kit with lotsa potential, and your pickup bed and Blue Flame 6 mods are imaginative and unusual twists on it. Looking forward to seeing it come together.

Ha! I had planned on doing that when the kit came back out about 3 years ago. I got as far as sawing the back off the cab!

Ok Tom. I got a little farther than you. Cut the turtle deck off and attached the short bed. Made a cover for the bed and also cut the roof out. Have the body and some other parts in primer. Is it just me or does this body seem a bit under scale. I have another one I built a while ago and I felt the same thing when I built that one.

Getting closer to wrapping this one up. I had to modify the chassis to get the Corvette straight 6 in. Should finish it up by or on the weekend.

I like it! Sanding the tread of the slicks is my only suggestion. I like seeing the inliner in there.
