Danno Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 (edited) Are you old enough to remember when new cars were hidden under tarps or covers or behind curtains on the showroom floor until "New Car Introduction Day"? Well, here's sort of a "Look What I Got Today" . . . 6 days late. Unfortunately, it's not quite 'Introduction Day' yet. The factory is busy cranking out some inventory before lifting the veil. But be patient . . . this one is well worth the wait! I garrohntee! But, seriously, look what followed me home last Wednesday. "New Model Introduction Day" Coming Very Soon at the Top Cop Shop in the Great Southwest. (PS: My "good" camera took a dive and is permanently 10-7. So, I resurrected an ancient one ~ please forgive the low resolution pic.) Edited August 20, 2013 by Danno
martinfan5 Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 (edited) I know what it is, I know what it is , curious in seeing how it builds up, I would ask some more question's but that would just give it away I think. You are doing a build thread for it? or just showing it off? sorry to hear about your camera going 10-7, that does suck, was it an expensive camera?, just asking some filler questions to pass the time Edited August 20, 2013 by martinfan5
Danno Posted August 20, 2013 Author Posted August 20, 2013 It wasn't a particularly expensive camera but it was a doggone good camera! But, I've gotten many good years of service from it. Now it's back to the tedious task of camera shopping. It just sux that it had to go ten-toes-up right now. I have a couple of build-ups about 1/2 finished . . .
Tompidom Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Mm I think I know wich one this is to! But i'm not 100% sure. Don't keep us waiting to long!!

Good luck, I did not enjoy looking for a new one awhile back, and if you want a camera that does not use a battery pack, good luck, there are not a lot of camera's now that don't use battery packs, I did not want a camera that runs off a battery pack, so that meant either getting a cheap P&S, or going to the $150+ range to get a decent camera that runs off AA battery's . But of course it would fail now, this is the time that you need it
timc Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 I know what it is . It's a coptang of some sorts.Me thinks CHiPs.
PappyD340 Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Shucks Danno, the suspence is killing us, hope it's not to much longer!!
Danno Posted August 20, 2013 Author Posted August 20, 2013 New Fox notchback with corrections ~ roof, deck, rear quarters, wheel well lips, rockers, rear bumper (shortened) - all now dead-on accurate! The unusual suspects are seen in the photo above: from right to left, Revell kit body, Mike Schnur master, first-pull pre-production prototype resin body. Mike Schnur teamed up with the Master Caster himself, Greg Wann, to produce a dead-on accurate Fox Notchback conversion for your Revell kit. And, you won't believe the price point! It's gonna be a steal. Not ready for sale yet, but it's coming very soon. Greg and Mike are working out details of the rear window ~ whether it will be cast in clear resin or vacuum-formed. The conversion kit will include hood, side windows and rear window. You provide a Revell kit for all the rest. It's awesome! Subtle changes but they make all the difference in the world. The first pull, preproduction prototype is on my bench for a photo session and build-up. You may see it in your favorite magazine . . . as soon as I finish my training regimen of mahi-mahi tacos and mai-tais.
Agent G Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Fish tacos and Mai Tais? I'm enroute dispatch. G
Danno Posted August 20, 2013 Author Posted August 20, 2013 Fish tacos and Mai Tais? I'm enroute dispatch. G Good. From the looks of the grass skirts, I'll need the back-up!
Maindrian Pace Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Fish tacos and Mai Tais? I'm enroute dispatch. G I think I might need to be a part of that too. -MJS
Agent G Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 I'll be down during Modelzona for sure. Say the word and I'll call in sick , ahem, take a day off, and head on down. G
Danno Posted August 20, 2013 Author Posted August 20, 2013 I think I might need to be a part of that too. -MJS Absolfreekinlutely!
Danno Posted August 21, 2013 Author Posted August 21, 2013 (edited) Here's my* pre-production prototype (first pull), after removal from the female mold but still on the male mold, with no clean up. It required very little cleanup, actually. And, it's an awesome casting . . . typical Master Caster quality! *Clarification: Make no mistake about it, I had nothing to do with the production of this resin conversion. I used the word 'my' because the first pull was provided to me by Greg Wann, The MasterCaster, and Mike Schnur, who mastered it (see his 'workbench' thread). So it's 'mine' because it isn't anyone else's, but I didn't make it. Edited August 21, 2013 by Danno
