Ace-Garageguy Posted Thursday at 01:23 AM Posted Thursday at 01:23 AM Apparently the local NWS guys left after the "purge" have decided to slow-work or "quiet quit" or whatever, as our once-hourly time-temp-baro-humidity-forecast updates are now every 2 or 3 hours or whenever they get around to it. Thankfully the radar still works, so I can see for myself if there's any precip in the vicinity or fronts moving in...
Ace-Garageguy Posted Friday at 06:07 PM Posted Friday at 06:07 PM My ISP is one of the most universally hated on the planet, and it's been on/off/on/off/on/off/on/off/on/off/on/off/on/off/on/off/on/off/on/off/on/off/on/off/ all dangetydanged morning...naturally when I have to send a mass of photos for a billing cycle. Naturally. I pay for lots of bandwidth and a fast wired connection because when I need it I NEED IT (and it's the only hardwired connection available at this address). So what go I get when I NEED it? saergsdfbdfbdhx vbxfhhdvbbghhfjjgyffdgf................nada Fcrew it. I'm going for a hike. Maybe they'll get a chimp up in the tree to clear that bunch of bananas that must be shorting the cable.

stitchdup Posted Friday at 07:29 PM Posted Friday at 07:29 PM I've been setting up the displays for our classic show and this year out indoor display is the end of ww2. Every single organisation that said they would attend has pulled out today. We had signs specially made and spent a decent chunk of money getting it looking nice inside the cattle mart for them. Luckily i know folk with stuff to fill the spaces but thats not the point. we kept them informed about it all year and confirmed them all on monday and they were happy then. I'm going to stop before i cuss them out and ban myself. 4
Volzfan59 Posted Saturday at 07:02 PM Posted Saturday at 07:02 PM (edited) Remodel a house in the country and move they said. You’ll love it out there and the quiet will be good for your PTSD they said. This is Copperhead #2 this week, but not in our carport this time. We were clearing out some brush near the barn in preparation to rebuild it. Out comes this guy right towards my beautiful wife and sister in law. Pinned him down with the backhoe and lopped of his head with the shovel. What “irks me” is that I really do hate killing one of God’s creatures, but I can’t knowingly have venomous snakes where me grandchildren play. If my law enforcement career taught me anything, it is that life is so very precious. Kinda getting old, but I do love it out here. Going to have to seal up the new barn really well. Edited Saturday at 07:09 PM by Volzfan59 I must start proof reading my posts 6

JollySipper Posted Saturday at 08:25 PM Posted Saturday at 08:25 PM I hate that you're having snake problems! I've always heard that mothballs will drive them away.......... Depending on where you are located, you might have King Snakes around. They eat the lesser snakes, along with rats and such..... 1 1

I think that we’re going to do the mothball thing around the perimeter of the house and barn. Thanks 1

The few times that I’ve had to keep my bass boat outside (covered) during the winter I’ve put mothball on paper plates in a few places. Left the compartment lids open too. No mice, no bugs……nothing. Boat stunk for a day or so but that’s a small price to pay. No reason for it not to work for snakes too.
