Jordan 191 Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 I just completed the AMT 1925 Ford Model T "2 complete kits in one box", non-chopped coupe version. Paint is Testors/Boyd Pacific Blue. I enjoyed this kit, although there were some key pieces that were warped and you definitely spend most of your time cleaning up parts. As discussed in my workbench thread, I used the metal axle in the front because I was worried about rigidity. Now that I've built it, I believe I could have left it out. The suspension assembly process is really touchy, so I was happy to have the metal piece holding it together through that step. Here are the pics:
TooOld Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 Beautiful little "T" ! Great color choice and very nicely done !
peekay Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 I like it! Uncomplicated, very clean build and great colours.
Harry P. Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 Very nice and clean work. Just two problems... I see your model has one of those "magic floating alternators" (or in this case, generator) that is somehow held on place by magic. And the wire front axle really has to go, it's completely unrealistic and totally out of place. But your technique is solid... it's a clean model that looks very well built.
Jordan 191 Posted October 5, 2013 Author Posted October 5, 2013 I agree that those are problems. It also lacks spark plug wires, radiator hoses, brake lines, etc. My plan was to build it straight out of the box. Thanks for all of the feedback everyone!
realgone58 Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 I like it. I like that particular color too, wish it was still available. I liked the Boyd series of paint. Seldom see one of these booths built unchopped. Cool.
hobbybobby Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Well, Adam, I would never build this in this art, but somehow I like it very much!
rv1963 Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 I really like it, nice clean build out of the box.
Cato Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Great build except for Harry's points. And I've seen countless rods and customs as a kid in that blue which was know then as 'Earl Scheib Blue'-brings back lots of memories.
Speedfreak Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 I think it looks great, axle included. Display it proudly.
slusher Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Sharp clean build. One of my favorite colors....
crazyrichard Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 sooo clean its almost freaky really awsome job on the build .. i also said it in the build thread and like harry said the front axle solution isnt the best but you know and it not ment badly also if you would deside to upgrade it a bit later on with some small details such as wiring and such it would really compliment the rest .. again awsome clean build !! also like the high roof
surfjunke Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 Beautiful OOB build! Very clean work & really like the color.
