DrKerry Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Wait a minute, the roof is about a .001 of an inch off!!!! LMAO, so now I know what all that black smoke that has been brewing just south of me has been. I saw a ton of smoke all weekend and couldn't for the life of now what would burn that long!!! Now I know, it was either you thinking like a mad man, or you burning through about 20 saws!!!!!!!! Ken, all I gotta say is you are the man!!!!! The last photo is almost dead nuts on!!!! So, I know a good caster not to far from where you and I live!!!! LOL

DrKerry Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Was thinking the same thing about the casting! Would make the body a lot stronger!! Yes it would..... let me know if you want to, I'm sure it wouldn't take much to twist his arm to do it........
Kennyboy Posted October 7, 2013 Author Posted October 7, 2013 Yes it would..... let me know if you want to, I'm sure it wouldn't take much to twist his arm to do it........ Yeah, go ahead and talk to him. I'll do my part to make a good master. Thanks Kerry!
Jordan 191 Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Wow that progress is incredible. I'm so impressed by people who can "see in 3D" like this.
Lunajammer Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Fantastic imagineering. Starting with a '53 Vette was a real headscratcher to me... okay I thought it was a big mistake. But I totally get it now. Nice perseverance. An enjoyable project to watch.
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 You're definitely beginning to close in on the proportions and lines. Effective mashup...looking good so far.
Foxer Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 I'm blown away by what you started with! The Chevy rear fenders are really taking shape at the front ... holy cow! I may not be able to speak during this, but I WILL be here watching!
Kennyboy Posted October 7, 2013 Author Posted October 7, 2013 Well guys, here it is....down to just two parts now (roof and body). It actually is kind of strong now that I have braced the inside of it. Shortened the roof and now I like the lines much better. Will fix the beltline tomorrow. Gotta go to work!
Mike Kucaba Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 I may just go to box stock models after seeing this work and the other Kens' work. Really inspiring!
GerN Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 Really impressive work - definitely get this beauty cast. You deserve to have a solid copy just in case Frankenstein develops stress cracks.
Daddyfink Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 Holy Moly! Aye Caramba! Aye Chihuahua! And a few other Mexican Sounding Expletives!
DrKerry Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 Yeah, go ahead and talk to him. I'll do my part to make a good master. Thanks Kerry! Will do, I'll email or call him...... Looking good by the way!!!! Great eye for what's "right"!!!!

Kennyboy Posted October 8, 2013 Author Posted October 8, 2013 I may just go to box stock models after seeing this work and the other Kens' work. Really inspiring! Thank you Mike, but I have to say that I myself was inspired to take on these projects by seeing what others on here have done. Hopefully you can pull something from this or other builds that would help your future builds. Then to me, my work will have had a positive influence. Really impressive work - definitely get this beauty cast. You deserve to have a solid copy just in case Frankenstein develops stress cracks. Thank you Gerald! I think that will be a good idea.
Kennyboy Posted October 8, 2013 Author Posted October 8, 2013 Holy Moly! Aye Caramba! Aye Chihuahua! And a few other Mexican Sounding Expletives! Thanks Jesse!

Kennyboy Posted October 8, 2013 Author Posted October 8, 2013 Decided for my donor chassis I am going to use the Enzo. The wheelbase is spot-on perfect and with all the aerodynamics underneath the Enzo it will make the chassis a little easier/cleaner. Besides, it doesn't hurt that the Enzo has a great V12 to work with! Today I cut the bottom of the Cobra front end off (it just did not look like the Ferrari) and grafted in the top of another Cobra front end. This made it more rounded and taller like the 1:1. Plus it took the "Cobra look" away. Will be grafting in parts of the Enzo front end (lower) to finish the lower half of the front clip. Pics soon.
ScrappyJ Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 That is pretty cool, Ken! You've done a great job converting (or should I say amalgamating) these many parts and pieces into a convincing subject!
Greg Wann Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 This is some beautiful work. It definitely needs to go for a dip in some silicone!
