Nothing wrong with revisiting old threads.

John asked for pics in his original post; in the intervening years I have taken quite a few pics of my builds....here are a few painted with Car Colors (decanted except the Galaxy)

These look great! I actually built a 64 Galaxie in the same color about 30 years ago. Only difference was mine had a white roof, and a black interior. I  cut the front seats out and spent a long tedious time adding very thinly trimmed Bare Metal foil to the seats for piping. Got in a fix about 15 years ago and sold it on ebay. Love the Revell Lancer, the 57 looks stellar, and the Nova is just plain bitchin.

I remember buying a quantity of these paints at a store (may have been a Wal-Mart) in Ormond Beach, Florida back in the early 1990s. I brought them home with me in my carry-on luggage, which would probably land you in prison nowadays! I have one hood left painted in those colours, wish I still had a few of them in the rack.

Yes, I acquired mine under similar conditions; Car Colors were never marketed in Canada.

Fortunately I still have a few cans.

I remember when this line of paints came out, and was lucky that my local shop stocked them.

You've managed to pop a capsule full of wonderful memories with that photo !

I haven't seen that artwork in decades !

Thanks much !

1985 .

This line of aerosols was replaced in Fall 1985 by the then-new Model Masters line .

They were available at Walmart and my local hobby shop into the mid 90s. I painted more than a couple AMT/ Ertl box art cars with it. They had some great colors. Model Master co-existed with them.

I built this 50 Ford for myself in 1990, and painted it with 1812 Sandstone Pearl Metallic.

The 1814 Clear (enamel) is still available as a regular Testors color, but not real easy to find on store shelves.

Was "German Silver" in that line of Testors ar Colors, or was it from another line?  I remember using that color on one of my models.

That was part of the Model Master lineup . Beautiful shade of silver, too ! I last used it some 22 years ago on a 1971 "Satellite" ; first time was on the then-new Revell 1969 Dart GTS 383.
