Wendall Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 So I finally got around to taking some pics of a couple more of my builds. This is a Tamiya 1/24 kit + Studio 27 photo etch. It went together pretty well apart from the engine cover which still wont quite sit flush and I found the photo etch a little disappointing. I painted it in Mercedes Brilliant Silver and covered that with acrylic clear, both out of a can from a national auto parts chain. It was given a light flatting with 4000 grit and polished up. I had big plans for plumbing and wiring the motor but I bottled it at the last minute. This is the second kit I completed so its all still a bit of a learning curve and I'm reasonably happy with it. Any comments, criticisms or advice gratefully received. Thanks for looking Jason
awholley Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Very very nice job, definitely something I'll have to build in the future.
Scuderia Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Great racer, and you did it proud. Super clean very nicely done!
Jordan 191 Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Really nice work. This is one of my all-time favorite race cars.
Shardik Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Nice, clean work. I'd say you're far enough around the (learning) curve to start accelerating.
Nacho Z Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Another nice looking racer, Jason. I have always like the Sauber.
Harry P. Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Any comments, criticisms or advice gratefully received. I don't see much to criticize here. You did a beautiful job as far as I can see.
Jordan 191 Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Your painting of the door opening / panel line is a detail that makes a huge difference. I'm always conflicted on when a panel line should be painted, but it's perfect here.
Wendall Posted October 20, 2013 Author Posted October 20, 2013 Thanks for the great comments guys, I'm really enjoying building again. Can't wait to start the next one!
