Porscheman Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 (edited) This was the car I picked for the Jersey Shore Paper Bag contest and I also was given the color green. This Revell kit is not one of my favorites. The chassis and suspensions are too fragile for my hand, but with a lot of time, I finish it in time for the contest. This was painted in Testors Lacquers Greens with Wet Look clear top coats from rattle cans. The interior was done in Tamiya's flat light green and the interior also featured a two tone effect. I didn't want to go with the typical dark fenders with a light body or visa versa, so I did a an angle flip flop. The results were pretty good. I didn't win but I did place 2nd from a car I didn't think had a snowballs chance in He**. This project was way out of my comfort zone for a build, but I enjoyed the challenge. Thanks for looking. bpletcher55 Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 YOU DID A FINE JOB ON THAT CAR, YOU RIGHT IT,S NOT AN EASY KIT TO BUILD BUT YOU DID GREAT ,CONGRADS ON 2,ND PLACE!
Nitro Neil Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Nice job on that old Buttera kit. Those are great kits, but they sure are fiddley.
Tom Geiger Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Looks good Al! The original idea of the Brown Bag Models was to take people out of their comfort zone. You did well!
realgone58 Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Looks great! It's always fun to build something different once in a while.
slusher Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Al you have been building some excellent builds lately. This is another great looking build. Beautiful paint scheme.
Ramfins59 Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Nice work Al. That's an interesting color scheme.
Sixties Sam Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Nice! The two tone color scheme is great - very creative. Good work! Sam
Porscheman Posted October 25, 2013 Author Posted October 25, 2013 Thanks everybody. Painting the 2 tone body and interior was fun. But instant gluing the under carriage to my fingers many times, it almost got stepped on. Al
PappyD340 Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Extremely NICE build Al, love the paint scheme and I really dig those wheels for some reason, you did a great job!!
jeffs396 Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Yes, very nicely done Al I like the wheels as well, do you know what kit they are from?
Danno Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Very nice! Good looking model. The Revell Model A kits may be fragile and fiddly, but that is because they are accurate representations in scale of the real thing, which was spare and "delicate" by later standards. Contrast them with earlier model kits of early Fords. We now consider them toy-like with heavy, oversized and unrealistic parts.
Porscheman Posted October 25, 2013 Author Posted October 25, 2013 Yes, very nicely done Al I like the wheels as well, do you know what kit they are from? Jeff, these were aftermarket wheel and tires. I got them out of my parts box and can't remember who made them. The tires are T/A radials with excellent detail. Thank you all for the nice comments. Al

Porscheman Posted October 25, 2013 Author Posted October 25, 2013 You know this is a 27 not a 29 Carl, I just googled it and we were both wrong. It's actually a 26. You were closer than me though. Thanks for pointing this out. Al
