Tukkerdax Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 Hello, The last few months i made a custom Rat Rod using 2 kits from AMT, a '57 Chevy "bel air" and a '50 Chevy pickup truck 3100. My inspiration i found at the internet , see picture below. For this build i made a lot of custom work... For example: Topchop fueltank rollbars Z-chassis and channel grill engine components wheelbay rear radiator and more... Aftermarket: wheels and tires engine components bomberseats I hope you like it. ! my inspiration: built:
Chuck Most Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 Nice! Love how you took the basic overall 'feel' of the 1:1, and then went your own way with it.
wkennerley Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 (edited) Wow nice combination, I love these way out hot rods Wayne Edited October 26, 2013 by wkennerley
northendmetalallstar Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 Nice! I like yer model better than the real car. On the 1:1, the box is too short and doesn't look like its sitting right. Good job!
pharoah Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 That's a great built. Never would have thought of that.
bbowser Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 Not my cup of tea but great model! Very convincing weathering. Love the grill.
rv1963 Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 Nice work very creative, I really like the changes you made from the real car.
01blueedge Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 cool build i like the 57 fins it makes the truck
Dr. Cranky Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Very cool bringing together of the two kits. Wonderful results.

Tukkerdax Posted November 16, 2013 Author Posted November 16, 2013 Thank you all for your nice compliments !! I'm thinking about a diorama for it..
Skull Orchard Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 I'm glad my car is your inspiration for your model. Your model turned out nice. If you'd like to follow the original car here is the link. https://www.facebook.com/Custom-Speeds-Skull-Orchard-Express-518479201625209/. My car graced the cover of Hotrod Magazine Feb 2012. It is a 1936 International cab and a 1958 Dodge Coronet rear panels. Keep up the good work. I always like to look at the models being built and where you get your inspiration.
