Porscheman Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 (edited) This one took very little of my time. I bought this at a swap meet yesturday in Wayne NJ. I was told this Grand Prix is very rare being done in black. I couldn't leave this one alone, so I added BMF, The Detailer black wash and highlighted the wheel and emblems with Tamiya's clear red. I wish someone would reissue this one. Question, detail rare promo's or leave them alone? You know my answer. Thanks for looking. Al Edited October 28, 2013 by Porscheman
disabled modeler Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Very nice Al... love those 69,70 Grand Prixs...hope to get mine restored someday in the future.
bbowser Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Very nice. I agree, it's your model-do what makes you smile!
Geno Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Look at my profile pic lol. You know what I think about these GP's. You done it justice.
Eshaver Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 That car had some of the best bucket seats I ever sat in . Shoot, the seats alone I think allowed me to sell four of them that year ..............
realgone58 Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 That looks stunning Al! I detail all my promos too. I just can't leave them alone.
MyBradKeselowski Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Beautiful Grand Prix ! ! Well done..
ToyLvr Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Another great build, Al! Brings back a lot of memories for me - I had the 1:1 back in the mid-70s...
PappyD340 Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Another super NICE build Al, you did good!!
Tonioseven Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 I modified mine. Not to Hijack your thread but here's a before/after shot of mine. At least it didn't get thrown away.
1930fordpickup Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Fine work on the Promo . Make it yours as the new saying goes. Antonio yours looks also.
Ramfins59 Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Another great job Al. Yes sir, I also believe in redoing promos to make them the way you want them. I've done about 6 of them of 50's cars already with another 6 or 7 in the pile yet to do and a bunch more if I can get them.
Danno Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Very nice, Al. You, too, Antonio. I just picked up a '71 built up last weekend. Got to figure out what I'll be doing with it . . . have a couple of ideas in the hatching stages.
charlie8575 Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Generally, if something is particularly rare, I advocate leaving it alone, but this is nicely-done and looks really good, Al. Charlie Larkin
