adabiri2 Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Plumbing with Pro Tech fuel lines, oil sump pump, distributor. Nitrous lines are some metal bracelet wire I got at craft store, lol. Detail Black wash valve covers for authenticity. Computers in interior. Fuel pump made with the vibrator from a cell phone(really cant see it, behind fuel cell.) Engine stand, I cant remember, I think ebay. Jack stands came from same place. Have a tool box also to complete the diorama. Boss 429 Mountain motor.
Monty Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 I see some nice work, but you really need to redo the plug wires. These Boss 429s are kinda like Mopar hemi engines in that the plugs go down through the top of the valve cover. See if this pic helps

adabiri2 Posted October 29, 2013 Author Posted October 29, 2013 Yea, I know.. I didn't realize that until I super glued them in place, lol... Already drilled the holes so I glued them in place. Woulda been a lot easier!!

Woulda been a lot easier!! Seriously, all the other work you've done on this is worth making this repair, and it's an incredibly easy fix. Use an X-Acto blade to trim the wire flush with the cylinder head and use a tiny amount of superglue over the holes. Move the wires up to where they belong and glue them on, then use a small brush to paint over the superglued holes. 100% more accurate and even beginner modelers could do it.

508boricua Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Great build! I'm a big fan of the pro stock legend Bob Glidden.
Rob Hall Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Sharp build...thinking about getting the reissue that just came out..never built this kit.
Daddyfink Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 And just for the record, Nitrous is against the rules in Pro Stock. Nice build
Scalper Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Looks sweet,, cant wait till they re-release this one soon.
Force Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 And just for the record, Nitrous is against the rules in Pro Stock. Nice build Yes it is, but Bob's son Billy did use it in the late 90's, and some others, and NHRA did say after the mysterious Wayne County brake in in 1998 that any use of Nitrous Oxide in any form is prohibited in the Pro Stock Class.

How about when Jerry Eckman's "oil tank" took off in the pits! And lets not for forget the unstoppable Dodge Boys in the mids 90's! Good times! If you don't get caught!
