Werner`s "Satte Liter Schüssel"

"Satte Liter Schüssel", translated the "Rich-liter bowl", proves that the boundaries between comics and reality, been able to get into flow.

The crazy thing is, that there already was a model kit from Revell, even before the first stroke of the real "Bowl" announced its existence with a thunderous roar, there is actually a real, mobile "motorcycle".

The technique of the real "Bowl":

Engine: air-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke, engine capacity 1440 ccm, Bore x Stroke 116 x 136 mm, capacity about 50 hp, double overhead camshafts, four valves, compression 8:1, battery ignition, Volvo SU carburettor with manual injection, dry sump lubrication, Harley - Panhead-gearbox and primary drive.

Suspension: steel frame of 1 ¼ inch seamless precision steel, brassed, a rigid rear, load bearing engine, parallelogram fork, Harley-drum brakes, tires 4.75/5.00-19 original Ford Model A.

Special Features: coal shovel seat with leaf spring , gasoline and oil lines made of copper, food stocked from beerbrewing, iron rims of Massey-Fergusson tractor, not tapered two-pipe exhaust system, 3.5-Liter fuel tank and handlebar, hammered by hand, fork legs of wood with steel core, optically like a drawbridge with torture fittings.



The Revell model is 1/9 and consists only about 58 parts, injection molded in a brownish-red, silver and brass-colored plastic.

In addition there are a few screws, a black hose and a metal spring for the front fork.

I've replaced the hose, because those from the kit, are unfortunately, made of soft plastic and not of rubber (in some places too hard).

The fit of the kit parts, can be described as just as "somewhat".

A very strong form displacement, and numerous cast burrs, is not exactly a erupt in cheers, especially since this kit would probably appeal to the younger clientele...

Not exactly a snaptite model, but this direction (although not exactly a bargain).

The distribution of components, sometimes it seems like quite absurd, since only a few components can be separately assembled, so you can assemble the main frame only if you already install the bracket for the front fork...

If you do not have to putty and sand in many places, that would be no problem, but so...

Revell, listen, a few more parts, have greatly facilitated the affair.



Not completely satisfied with the finish of some parts- still need to rework, but I hope, you enjoy it nevertheless.

Yes, I have previously built this kit before, but unfortunately I have no pictures, it was in the old days...

Now I have it back in two copies...

Please finish "The Red Porsche Killer", I have always loved that kit and a custom version would be awesome.

Here is some more Information:

"Werner is a fictional character, appearing in a number of German comic books and animated films, and was created by Brösel (Rötger Feldmann).

Werner is the most successful German comic character of all time with over 10 million books sold and over 13 million film admissions.

The Werner books are known for their anarchic humour, often based on Northern German dialect and puns.

The character of Werner is based on Brösel's own experiences.

Werner is an unemployed biker who likes to modify his motorcycle — which constantly gets him into trouble with the police and the TÜV. (Technischer Überwachungs-Verein, English: Technical Inspection Association)

Werner also likes to consume large amounts of beer (known as Bölkstoff in the comics).

In his younger years, Werner was apprentice to plumber Meister Röhrich - the situations and characters in these stories are based on Brösel's brother Andi's apprenticeship years.

The bike was drawn in a comic , but the artists brother was so enamoured with it - that he brought it in to existance!

The cylinder came out of an old tractor, as did the wheels, the tires were once made for a Ford Model A and had spent several decades in storage somewhere, (found virginly wrapped in paper in a Danish tire store), the seat is an actual shovel and the fork is made from forged iron and ash (wood).

Due to a lack of space, the petrol tank is part of the handle-bar arrangement, although it runs on petrol, this looks more steam-ish than most steam motorcycles- it goes ka-tchunk, ka-tchunk like real machinery schould...

Custom made engine block, 1440 cc displacement, the original aim had been for 1000, internals, cylinder head, DOHCs operating four valves via rocker arms, Generator from a Japanese compact car, Silencers (yes, they are there) came from dirttrack bikes, one in each pipe.

Modified Harley brakes and a Harley transmission.

The engine is, obviously, a stressed member, and due to a lack of foresight by the designers, the four bolts holding the cylinder and head assembly to the block are the only thing that keeps the bike together (note how the steering is bolted right to the cylinder head, as are the frame tubes).

It delivers about 50 - 60 something hp or thereabouts, makes a noise like a steam-engine breathing angry spanners and is, of course, utterly and totally illegal in any conceivable way...
