krazyglu Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Wow it just baffle's me that 40 year's ago you built that model, the detail is top notch even to this day. Put's my 29 year old butt right in place haha, very nice work and great that you kept it in such great condition. I like your other build's also.
Hammerdown Posted December 14, 2013 Author Posted December 14, 2013 Ya 40 years ago I was hanging out at Bison Dragways watching Tom Hoover, Gary Beck,The Snake and the stars of the day. I helped run a C/Gas Dragster with my brother. I was nuts about Funny Cars [still am] and wished I'd scrounged a job with a touring team. I spent many hours replicating what I saw at the track and in my favourite Magazine... Drag Racing USA. This model kicked butt at every model contest I entered back in the day. I think I might spend some time and restore it. It could use some attention. It's great that after all these years of it sitting on my shelf that through this technology I'm able to expose it to my fellow modelers from around the world! Thanks for looking guys.
Speedpro Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Thank's for sharing this one! What a awesome build. Love all the details from day's gone by. I was reading your last post and you talked about maybe doing a restoration. I know i'v seen guy's on here restoring glue bombs but this is in no way a glue bomb!! IMO that car should be enjoyed as one of your all time favorite builds. Restoring it would remove all it's 40 year luster. You have taken very good care it and I think you should just continue to do so.
Hammerdown Posted December 15, 2013 Author Posted December 15, 2013 Thanks guys. I'm going to fix some broken details but leave it as is. I am building a ramp truck for it and will post pics.
