This one started live with me in an ugly dark blue with red interior. The only thing missing was the convertible boot, steering wheel and tail light lenses. The body and interior were strip in Purple Power and the chrome bumpers were redone using BMF. The bodies paint is Krylon Pastel Yellow and wet look clear. The interior done Tamiya's in gloss black to bring out the vinyl interior look. The Modelhaus parts were used for the missing part.

I never had this one before. It was an fun restoration. I still have 6 more to go, got a little crazy on ebay.

Thanks for looking.

The photos are very dim and small, and it's hard to see what you've done. The only critical thing I could say is that the convertible shouldn't be as shiny as it is.

Click on them. Still dark and dim, but at least bigger.

Sorry. I should have known you know about that. My mistake.

Sorry about the darker pictures. It's dark and snowing here and I had to take them in the garage instead of in the sunlight as usual. I'll update them tomorrow. The boot is shiny because, that was the only white I had left and I wanted to finish the model.

But thanks for the nis comments.

I remember my brother-in-law, Larry had one of these. Hardtop big engine. On of his kids let a crayon run down the defrost vent. I used to lmao every time he turned on the heat. It smelled like a candle factory....

Another beautiful resto! The color suits it perfectly. Krylon has lots of nice colors that replicate many factory colors, but I just can't get Krylon to lay as good as you get it to.

Actually, the convertible should be shiny . . . as it is. However, the convertible top boot shouldn't be shiny - they are generally vinyl and should be semi-gloss to satin finish at best.

Very nice build, Al! I love your vintage factory stock builds.

Thanks guys. Alan I had to use a whole can of Testors Wet Look clear to get the Krylon paint to look good. The fumes were a good time :P

Indeed, very nice.

I'm certainly enjoying your glue bomb restos....they're motivating me to start on mine that I've hoarded over the past several years.....just pulled out my '66 Wildcat. :)

This is great incentive to finish up the '64 Hardtop I've been poking at, if I can get everything to actually clean up so I can get it done.

Looks great, Al.

I'm glad you got "a little crazy" on ebay; I'm sure none of the other bidders would have produced such a fine result. Looking forward to more.
