Dragline Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Very nice tribute. While not a fan of the F&F movies I did enjoy his appearances on Shark Men. 40 is is far too young to leave this plain and the irony of the circumstance is beyond weird. Do a great job. Bob
wkennerley Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 What a great idea, a pity I do not have anything to build that would be linked to him or any of the films - I will keep an eye on this build though Wayne
freshawk Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 I watched the first movie twice last night. Beyond ironic cause of death , and really sad at the same time.
cartpix Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Great idea, Tom. I think I have his orange Toyota, from the first movie. Jeff
lower99 Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 This is a great idea. Paul Walker, Rest in peace.
slusher Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Great tribute, l will love to watch this one..
fantacmet Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 This was sad, just as he was getting to be well known in the acting world, he wasn't given enough credit with his acting talent. I see alot of mega famous actors that can best be described as hacks, but was at least mostly believable in the F&F films. 40 though man the guy is older then I am and I thought I was a good 8-10 years older then he was. Dude looked WAY young.
mr.camaro Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 I agree it was very sad but at least he got to go doing something he was passionate about. I will be building the eclipse from the first movie as a tribute.
hemi Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 This should be a great tribute to Paul,I am a huge fan of the fnf movies,I know alot of the stuff in the movies could never happen but they were such kool movies and Paul,to me was a great actor and will be missed. I have the eclipse and the supra from the first movie and as i heard the news of his death I thought I'd build them as a tribute to Paul.
Captain Obvious Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 I actually have one of these kits in progress right now, and I would probably do the same if I wasn't almost finished with the paintwork on it. I will be watching your build though.
Austin T Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Just thought I would share this. This is a picture from the crash site of what people have put there, someone put a Tamiya R34 there. Good to see a modeler wishing Paul to R.I.P.
MikeyB08 Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 I find it so hard to believe he's gone. Paul was one of the few actors that I enjoyed watching. So sad...
Dave Van Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 I've built a few FnF cars in scale.....I have a GTR for the blue car Paul had in one of the films......
martinfan5 Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 I've built a few FnF cars in scale.....I have a GTR for the blue car Paul had in one of the films......Been wanting to build that for awhile now, that would be number 4, or Fast And The Furious
PowerPlant Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 (edited) This should be cool... The "Little Bastard", car James Dean was killed in (interestingly, also a Porsche - a 550 Spyder), became hugely popular as a replica after he died... I wonder if we'll start seeing more of these red GT Carreras with black wheels now? I hope your project turns out a nice tribute Are you also going to replicate the car's license plate? Apparently, this photo of Paul getting into the Porsche was taken just moments before the crash occurred... Edited December 3, 2013 by PowerPlant
Skydime Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Tom, pretty scary we both had the same idea. I was perusing for this kit today and I just now saw this.
fantacmet Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 I would love to do an R34 like he drove in F&F2. May pick one up this weekend if I can afford it.
Skydime Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 (edited) Maybe rally some interest in a community Paul Walker tribute build? Sort of like a way for car guys to pay tribute to a car guy. And I am not too familiar with the racing career of Roger Rodas but, for anyone that is, maybe build some of his rides as well. EDIT Didn't know one was already in progress http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=82270 Edited December 3, 2013 by Skydime
Tompidom Posted December 3, 2013 Author Posted December 3, 2013 Tom, pretty scary we both had the same idea. I was perusing for this kit today and I just now saw this. No problem, The more the marier, Would love to see someone else build it. I am building it for me and I hope that won't stop you from building it fro yourself!
Lownslow Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 I find it a little disrespectful to start honoring a man by building the same vehicle he died in, not cool.
