Is it possible that this stuff breaks down glue ? I soaked a glue bomb in it the other night and all the glue seams came apart and cleaned with little effort . The glue on this model was unknown ,but acted as if it were testors or similar .

Nick, if you have a Great Canadian Dollar Store nearby they should have it. Thats were I happened to stumble upon it.

It was probably Testoes glue. I have had the same effect with Castrol Super Clean and Purple power. although the castrol seems to brake down glue better.

I still need to pick some of this stuff up and give it a try.

I just picked up some Totally Awesome cleaner, and have a part primed with Tamiya light grey primer and painted with Duplicolor, so we'll see how it does.

I tried the Totally Awesome today to remove chrome from some parts of a Monogram 1980s Oldsmobile. It worked really fast, just about an hour, and the chrome plating was gone. Thanks for the tip.

to get the duplicolor off - get a zip loc frezzer bag put your parts in and pound it full of easy-off (yellow can) squeez out as much air as you can let sit for a coppel days (shaking it every now and agin to cause it to re-fome) this should cause blistering?pop blisters and knock off paint then put in the toyally awesome (or brake fluid) for a few more days and should scrub off with no problem (ive never used the purple stuff yet?)

Picked up a bottle tonight and a container at the dollar store, going to try it before work tomorrow and see what I come home to! Really didn't like the way my body turned out using Testor's Gloss Black from a can.

My Vette has been soaking for about 12 hours and it's just now starting to come off (with no assistance) but it does have a coat of clear on it so it may have to sit longer for the chemical breakdown to occur. If it was just plain paint/primer it would probably be pretty much done, but I've heard that clear coat is like cement sometimes.

Well my vette has been soaking since Tuesday morning and it is still not clean. I think it was the clear coat that I put on. LA's seems to have issues eating through that concrete like stuff. The unclear'd portion of the vette is good, but that isn't much. I've even tried taking a toothbrush to it and it still won't come off. Only if I use my nails will it come off and that would take to long, not to mention give me sore thumbs. So I think in the morning I'll run down and pick up some purple stuff (or run over to $1 store and get some brake fluid) and see what happens then.

I tried this stuff on a body a couple days ago painted with Tamiya TS-26. Needless to say, I was not impressed. After two days, it didn't even soften the paint, it didn't even come off with a tooth brush... And yes, it was the normal yellow stuff.

But I sprayed the body in mineral spirits, the paint was softened up completely within 20 minutes  So mineral spirits is my paint stripper now, it doesn't melt the plastic.

Hey all. Found a new paint stripper, it strips it off in just a matter of minutes :D

Mineral spirits.

Don't use lacquer thinner, it will melt the plastic. The mineral spirits take the paint off really fast...my part was stripped in 20 minutes. And no, it won't melt it :)

I would strongly suggest testing on a scrap part or hidden area on any kit you try to strip with mineral spirits. I used to use that to strip kits way back in the day (about 25 years ago), it will damage some plastics. Revell kits from the '80s seem to be the worst at being damaged by mineral spirits.

I've been using Awesome for years to final clean my paint brushes. It cleans every bit of paint out but, never thought of trying it on a model, thanks for the tip. 20 fl. ozs. for one dollar here at the Dollar Tree.
