RandyB. Posted January 8, 2014 Author Posted January 8, 2014 (edited) Thanks John and David. I'm doing my '71 Charger now with tire decals. Edited January 8, 2014 by RandyB.
RandyB. Posted January 10, 2014 Author Posted January 10, 2014 Thanks Tommy. I'm hoping to have her finished by the weekend. Just put the body onto the chassis today.
RandyB. Posted January 10, 2014 Author Posted January 10, 2014 I got the body on and the wheels installed tonight. I'm liking this one very much. I think these white lettered tire decals really dress the car up!
Darbo Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Yes Randy those tire decals sure do make it "POP". Great build!
slusher Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Those tire decals are nice Randy. I may have to get those when my Shabo stash runs out. Cuda is looking sweet...
Speedfreak Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Great work so far Randy, beautiful 'Cuda. Nice job on the Rally wheels.
stump Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Nice clean build you got going there, I like it very much. And another here in favour of those awesome tyre decals, they look so much better than any of my attempts to paint that kinda detail.
RandyB. Posted January 12, 2014 Author Posted January 12, 2014 Thanks guys and I'm glad everyone likes the tire decals. Well this build is finished but I'm waiting until tomorrow when it's light outside and I can get some complete pics. In the meantime I thought a quick glimpse of both my 'Cuda builds together would be cool. Better pics to come!
RandyB. Posted January 12, 2014 Author Posted January 12, 2014 Thanks Bob. Well Barracuda number two finished. I enjoyed building both kits. Have a look and thanks or following this topic.
FASTBACK340 Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Very nice work Randy! They both look beautiful!
RandyB. Posted January 13, 2014 Author Posted January 13, 2014 Thanks guys. I appreciate all of these fine comments on this build!
Monty Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Thanks guys! David...I used Testors silver spray paint followed by a good coat of Testors "wet look clear". I did this on my other '70 Cuda build as well. Comes out looking nice. First, congratulations on a fantastic build. I love it when someone demonstrates how sweating the details pays off big. Kudos also on your clean building technique (assembly, paint and BMF). Lastly, great choice of tires*. Just giving yourself an option to the standard polyglas tires makes it stand out even more. PS Just for clarification, are you saying you shot the scoop with standard Testors silver and got that shade? I'm asking because it looks like pewter in the picture, which would be correct. Again, great job on this build. Can't wait to see what you create next. *For those of you who aren't aware, Fireball Models offers two pages of waterslide tire decals, so you've got a very good chance of being able to replicate quite a few different manufacturers' tires from the past (at least via sidewall). What's even better is the guy behind fireball Models is our board's own Chief Joseph.

Monty....all I used on the shaker hood was Testor's silver in the spray can and a coat of Testor's "wet look" glossscoat.
