Chris White Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 I managed to find this one on sale for $9.99 at the LHS, as well as the Vallejo Model Air paints. It turned out ok, but the Model Air paints dried to a flat finish, and after adding clear, it orange pealed. I then attempted to cut and buff out the clear and burnt through on the hood. Oh well, live and learn, I guess. I did add Pegasus wheels, lowered it slightly, added BMF, and painted the air cleaner cover with Alclad II. Looking forward to comments
o-man Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 I think the Pegasus wheels set it off. Great build!
donb Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Looks good to me too! I like the wheels. Remind me if Mustang Bullit wheels. I will need to look for them myself!
Danno Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 I don't want to seem Judge-mental, but that's a beauty.
Greg Cullinan Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Off to a good start. I dig it a lot. Color, wheels, nice.
Ford guy Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Great looking GTO Chris! Too bad about the orange peel. Love those wheels on her, very cool. Looks mean.
crazyjim Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Looking very sweet, Chris. I might be wrong, but I think you have the tires in the wrong direction.
Chris White Posted January 4, 2014 Author Posted January 4, 2014 Thanks Guys, Jim you are right, thanks for the heads up. I work better in reverse anyway
PappyD340 Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Real NICE Chris, I think it looks good, in spite of the orange peel!!
rmvw guy Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 It looks good to me. I really like the underside. I once tried building that kit and somehow now only have the wheels and tires. The car didn't survive. I think I painted it and stripped it then, weathered it, then distroyed it probably.
Speedfreak Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Looks great Chris, great eye appeal. Many aspects of the model are superb. That alclad looks great, like real metal.
Captain Obvious Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Even with the orange peel, super-clean build...the wheels are perfect, just the right amount of drop, fantastic detail underneath and underhood.
Dave42 Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Nice work. I really like the chassis work. As the others said, the wheels fit the car well too.
jaydar Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 The pix show a very well done GTO! What kit is it? Joe.
om617 Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 This looks great Does those brakes follow the wheels?
Chris White Posted January 4, 2014 Author Posted January 4, 2014 Thanks Joe, its the Revell Muscle Series 69 GTO Thanks Tommy, The brake are from Pegasus too, they are the 23 " brake kit And James thanks, coming from you that's a compliment
