Hi,

This MPC Pinto is modified wheeltubs on,Just to get the fit for the Tires.

The wrinkle slicks is Competition Resin and i dont know if have built this Car "correct"

But i am satisfied with the Proportions.

Slixx decals and scratchet headlights.

I dont like, when they have Chromed lenses in the kits,i´ll think it looks like toys.

WOW, Fred, This is a beautiful build! It looks like the real race car. The wrinkle wall slicks add a lot of realism to the build and the stance looks perfect. It sits nice and low in the front.

Please post some pictures of this build showing the details. I'd like to see some pictures of the engine and chassis.

BTW, what brand of paint and color did you use on the body?

Mike.

Hi,

I dont remember exactly but the orange paint came from a can that i found here in Sweden of a brand (Multona)

and the black areas was masked and also shot with a can of the same brand.

then the decals, and for the final final shine,i have used clear also from Multona

and between the layers of clear it is a lot of wetsanding of 1200 paper.

just to get the surface smooth.

and the polishing to a high skine.

Thanks Fred

Hi Again,

Thanks For all your positive feedback.

I´m not sure how i Updates this thread ?

I would like to put in a line in the title of this thread that it is updated but i dont know how?

DSC_0103-vi.jpg

As you see this engine is not detailed, because i got tired of the build because that i did´nt have the patient and was´nt completly satisfied with the build.

Anyway the Pinto deserved to be completed in a less detailed version of what i had in mind from the beginning.

Fred, Thanks for posting the pictures and the information on the paint. It looks like you figured out how to update the title, which is done by editing the 1st post of the thread using 'Full Editor'

Fred - That is one of the best Pro Stock replicas I have seen in a while !

"Dyno" Don would be proud :) .

I am not certain what engine was in the original car ; either a 351-C ( "Cleveland" ) or a Boss 429 ( Doubt that it was a "385-Series" 429 wedge ) .

From what I understand , this car was retired and then sold to some-one in Orange County , California . It is alleged that it was in a serious wreck at Orange County International Raceway some-time in the late 1970's.
