Evil72gto Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 (edited) This is a revell 69 Camaro with the hood from the 69 SS snap kit & parts from the 69 Nova. The 3 different sets of wheels are held on with magnets. The magnets are attached to the front & rear ends with CA. & behind each wheel there is a washer to hold them in place. I painted this kit with Tamiya TS14 black rite out of the can! Then I polished it with Meguiars # 7 show car glaze. The trim is all BMF. The photo etch is all model car garage. I holowed out the back side of the grill with a dremel tool. Edited January 8, 2014 by Evil72gto
Danno Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Very nice! I love the interchangeable wheels idea ~ imaginative idea and very resourceful solution!
TooOld Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Very nice Brian ! The opened grille always makes a big difference and is well worth the extra work .
crazyjim Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 My favorite year Camaro - especially in SHINY :)
mikemodeler Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 That is a very nice black paint job on a very nice car! Great idea on the wheel thing, will have to try that!
Evil72gto Posted January 8, 2014 Author Posted January 8, 2014 The hood hinges are from the AMT 66 nova kit. With the kit spring removed & replaced with N scale train coupler springs. You can get them from a well stocked hobby shop that deals in N scale trains. You can get the springs in a coupler spare parts pack. The part # for the kit is 1029 & it's from Micro Trians. It has other pieces in the package like small screws & at least a dozen springs in the package & some other stuff you could use for other things. I used photo etched washers from model car garage for the pivot points. If anyone want to know more just ask. & thanks for looking.
Evil72gto Posted January 9, 2014 Author Posted January 9, 2014 Thanks again. I will try & post some pic's of the engine it's wired & plumed.
Belugawrx Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Well done, Very nice details Great foil work You should try polishing your paint, that would make everything pop
JM485 Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 I really like what you did with the grill, that adds a lot of realism to the build.
