Randytheroadrunner Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Is there another skin available for this forum that is easier on the eyes? I suffer from diabetic retinitus, and the stark white really hurts my eyes.
cobraman Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Can you wear lightly tinted glasses ? Would that help ?
Greg Cullinan Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I seem to remember the option just not the location. I do believe you can change it.
Casey Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I don't think there is anymore. Can you try decreasing the brightness of your screen, Randy? Holding down the Control (PC) or Command (Mac) button and pressing the minus ("-") button should work.
Randytheroadrunner Posted January 15, 2014 Author Posted January 15, 2014 I asked because I remember when I first joined this forum, I was pretty sure you could change it. I turn down the brightness, but it makes the letters harder to see. The font sizer on my browser doesn't seem to work here.
Casey Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I remember that, too, but I think the different skins were eliminated when the forum software(?) was upgraded. I recall there were issues when changing between the Full and Mobile versions, too, so maybe the two were related. I don't see any option for selecting a different forum skin anywhere, though.
gbdolfans Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I remember you could change skins. Then we had that problem that required all new software and everything had to be moved to here.I think Gregg said that that option was not going to happen here..I wish we could get it back as some of them were cool and did actually make it easier to read.
Skydime Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Pretty sure the option was eliminated when the forum got crashed and had to be redone last time. However, there are lenses that you can get to mount to the front of your monitor to solve this. I'm sure it would help you with many other sites as well.

Dave Ambrose Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 At the bottom of the page, you will find a link that says Change Theme. It has regular and mobile. Do not select the mobile. You cannot switch back. You have to contact me, and I'll change it back for you. We might be able to download a theme that will address your problem. Is light blue an OK background color?

You cannot switch back. You have to contact me, and I'll change it back for you. I'm not so sure that's a problem anymore. I sometimes switch between IP Board and IP Board mobile, when logging on on my Windows phone or via the PC/Mac, without any issues. I recall two years ago or so some members had issues when switching, but it doesn't seem to be a problem anymore, at least in my recent experience.

Dave Ambrose Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 I'm not seeing any useful skins that will address this problem. Sorry. We used to have more skins, some featuring truly hideous color combinations. But they don't come with the board software any more.

1930fordpickup Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 One would think an upgrade would not include a downgrade in options. But that is how it works with software these days .
