Randytheroadrunner
Is there another skin available for this forum that is easier on the eyes? I suffer from diabetic retinitus, and the stark white really hurts my eyes.
cobraman
Can you wear lightly tinted glasses ? Would that help ?
Greg Cullinan
I seem to remember the option just not the location. I do believe you can change it.
Casey
I don't think there is anymore. Can you try decreasing the brightness of your screen, Randy? Holding down the Control (PC) or Command (Mac) button and pressing the minus ("-") button should work.
Randytheroadrunner
I asked because I remember when I first joined this forum, I was pretty sure you could change it. I turn down the brightness, but it makes the letters harder to see. The font sizer on my browser doesn't seem to work here.
Casey
I remember that, too, but I think the different skins were eliminated when the forum software(?) was upgraded. I recall there were issues when changing between the Full and Mobile versions, too, so maybe the two were related. I don't see any option for selecting a different forum skin anywhere, though. gbdolfans
I remember you could change skins. Then we had that problem that required all new software and everything had to be moved to here.I think Gregg said that that option was not going to happen here..I wish we could get it back as some of them were cool and did actually make it easier to read. Skydime
Pretty sure the option was eliminated when the forum got crashed and had to be redone last time. However, there are lenses that you can get to mount to the front of your monitor to solve this. I'm sure it would help you with many other sites as well. Dave Ambrose
At the bottom of the page, you will find a link that says Change Theme. It has regular and mobile. Do not select the mobile. You cannot switch back. You have to contact me, and I'll change it back for you. We might be able to download a theme that will address your problem. Is light blue an OK background color? I sometimes switch between IP Board and IP Board mobile, when logging on on my Windows phone or via the PC/Mac, without any issues. I recall two years ago or so some members had issues when switching, but it doesn't seem to be a problem anymore, at least in my recent experience. Dave Ambrose
I'm not seeing any useful skins that will address this problem. Sorry. We used to have more skins, some featuring truly hideous color combinations. But they don't come with the board software any more.
Harry P.
Is there another skin available for this forum that is easier on the eyes? I suffer from diabetic retinitus, and the stark white really hurts my eyes. Try playing with the adjustments on your monitor (brightness and contrast)... see if that helps. 1930fordpickup
One would think an upgrade would not include a downgrade in options. But that is how it works with software these days .
