John Teresi Posted February 2, 2014 Author Posted February 2, 2014 Hello…….thanks guy for the kind comments…….I really do appreciate them……..on the way to the NNL West show yesterday……..Art Laski,Paul Cadwell and I stopped at a Hobby shop in Gilroy……and I picked up this giant canopy used for a huge airplane…….and I really think I can make it work for my Garlit`s body……..I will have to modify it …….but,I think it will work?……..If it does`nt then I will have to go back to the drawing board…….But,I have confidence in myself………thanks for looking.
Mooneyzs Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 John... Awesome score on the airplane canopy. How funny you guys went to Gilroy hobbies. I always try to go there when I am home. Gilroy hobbies used to be a skating rink and I use dot go there during high school....lol it's great to see you back on this project. Nice work brother!
Metalmad Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 John your off to a great start brother and I'm sure this will be one awesome build when completed.
John Teresi Posted February 3, 2014 Author Posted February 3, 2014 Hello…….thanks guys for the kind comments ……..I started making the body…….I think it will work out just fine…….I have a long ways to go……but,I will get a little more done tonight……..thanks for looking
cobraman Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Very clever use of an airplane canopy. Would be cool to have another that you kept clear to see all your detail but I'm sure your body will be removable.
Mooneyzs Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 John.... you are off to a great start Brother!! I love your creativity for this body. I never would have thought of using an airplane canopy. I can't wait to see the next update!!
Pro Wrench Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 The only bad part about using that clear canopy is that it doesn't show up very well in the pics. Kinda reminds me of the old Wonder Woman invisible jet when the show was on TV when I was a kid. LOL
Cubeman Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 The only bad part about using that clear canopy is that it doesn't show up very well in the pics. Kinda reminds me of the old Wonder Woman invisible jet when the show was on TV when I was a kid. LOL I’m fairly sure, the body finally will be painted.
Art Laski Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 (edited) Looks like you're making it work! I could see the wheels in your head turning when you picked up that body. Build is looking great and will be fun to watch! Edited February 4, 2014 by Art Laski
John Teresi Posted February 5, 2014 Author Posted February 5, 2014 Hello…….thank you all very much for the kind comments…….I really do appreciate them ………I got another good jump on the body today……a quick note……this body will not be exact but,it will be close enough for what I had to work with…….I will work on the canopy tomorrow…….thanks for looking.

majel Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Amazing framework John!! Couple of questions: did you use a jig for the frame and do you drill and pin all the individual frame pieces or do you just glue them together?
John Teresi Posted February 6, 2014 Author Posted February 6, 2014 Amazing framework John!! Couple of questions: did you use a jig for the frame and do you drill and pin all the individual frame pieces or do you just glue them together?
