My Sister was hospitalized & had her Gall Bladder removed. Last night we learn Amy's Dad's Prostate Cancer has Metastisied, and yesterday we were given the heads-up my dealership is circling the drain getting ready to be flushed....

Wow.....

When you reach the bottom, you can only go up from there my friend. Here's to better times.

We'll be OK…. John always has a plan B, but the Father-in-Law is a serious issue. My Wife is upset….My sister is healing, the job….eh. I have options.

It's just been a bad week, especially including all the things that now seem too trivial to mention. Wow….

Sad to hear the bad news. Sorry about your father in law and sister. If we are not healed here we will be healed in heaven. God bless...

Thanks gang…. My sister is just sore, but she's doing OK. My Mother-in-Law was following the ambulance to the hospital and got T-bone on the way. She's ok, but hopefully she'll leave the Prius in the junkyard. Then there's the cold I have brewing…. And my arthritis is hurting a few knuckles & joints….. and it's friggen COLD outside and icy. I can't even take the `Cuda out for some red-line power-shift therapy!

Geeez…. I know life rolls in cycles. This is a rough one so far……

------------------------------------------

BTW: Just saw the weather report for today: I may get some relief as the weather is supposed to warm up. Maybe the fingers and joints will feel good enough to finish one of the Barracudas this weekend.

You know somehow, when all this happens at once, I tend to think it's a matter of how strong "someone" believes we are. I take solace in the fact that "someone" is confident that you or I or anyone else for that matter, is strong enough to endure.

Stay the course my friend.

Oh, I've been through worst for sure, and it was UG-LY! Glad I had the power to get through it.

All this is just life being life. It's just a rough combination of things at the moment.

On a positive note, I have a pompous, arrogant, condescending Service Advisor that no one likes take not one, but three rather slanderous cheap shots at me in front on my Manager and the General Director of my shop. I sucked it up, and over the course of the next 2 hours I proved every accusation of his wrong and made him not only look like a jerk, but gave me the opportunity to read him the riot-act in front of the same people he nailed me with. Took all of 23 seconds to get my point out in the open. He had no response, and the already mentioned managers gave me a wink and a smile.

Yeah…. I had a good day. And I'm off tomorrow….. ;)

See John, that therapy was just what you needed! :P

Seriously, I hope all goes well with the F-I-L, illnesses can be a strain on life and especially at this time of year. The weather will get warmer and hopefully you will get the car out for some more therapy.

Hi John- Hope things work themselves out! My week sucked. I started a new consulting job on Monday. Or I thought I did. I get there, go through their orientation and I'm told that the computer they ordered for me two weeks ago never showed up. So they sent me home after 3 hours, telling me that I'm useless without a computer. I got a days pay on Wednesday going in for a full day of meetings, and they gave me maybe 2 hours worth of work to take home, which I did today. So I earned a big 13 hours pay this week. No telling when this mythical computer will actually show up. And this is a Fortune 100 major corporation that can't even get a new hire a computer? We are doomed!

Yeah, ripping that jerk a new one with an audience was a good feeling. Too many people I work with are afraid to take a stand at times, then they complain when they're treated like a floor mat. I hate operating like that with co-workers, but this guy….. <grrrr!> I wouldn't let my Dog bite him. I'm afraid my Dog would get sick.

Tom: Just because it's a Fortune 100 company doesn't mean there's no incompetence in it's staff. They're just better at covering it up.

I am glad things are getting better for you John...I have had to work for people like that before that is one of the reasons when I had my shop I never ever treated anyone that way...all my people were treated like family because it was right and how I wanted them to feel...only makes for great people that look forward to coming in to work. Sadly when I had my accident we lost everything-shop,house,cars,etc.pretty much. Not once did I ever have anyone that was unhappy while there...they were not just a number.

You sound like you have the same principals as my Wife's employer. He's the read-deal as far as being a people-person too.

When Storm Sandy raised Hell along the NYC shore last year, he distributed all employees Holiday bonus checks early just in case someone needed it…. and he would have helped further if you personally approached him privately. My Wife swears she'll never leave him, and she's been there 18 yrs. this coming May.

I have personal I must deal with that if I saw them stranded on the roadside after work hours I'd be hard pressed to stop and help.

Hey, I'm off today! After I bring Mr. Paws and Jaw in for his shots and a general once-over I can come home and play at the workbench. I'm shooting for an Under Glass submission for the first time this year!

Cool John!... I just tried to treat people like i wish they would me in return. It was great while it lasted anyway. I myself am waiting for some change of luck on too many points to think of right now. Nothing like having to basically start over from scratch again after building/collecting kits and promos for over 40 years due to burglars...what they did not take they tore up...they needed enough already. By the grace of god they did not find everything...still have some of my dads oldies and a few of my childhood ones but they all need more work or more parts now and cant afford to just go order resin replacements of what they do offer...that is just one issue have on my plate. Thanks for the compliments on my old shop John...I tried really hard to make them all feel important and welcomed.

Which reminds me of a little story...

One day St Peter was bored and decided that he'd let everyone who approached into Heaven if they had a good "Bad Day" story. The first guy came along and he asked the question, "How was your day"? The guy answered, "I had a bad day! I knew my wife was cheating on me so I came home early and rushed in to find her naked in bed by herself. So I looked around, and there I see the guy out on the balcony, hiding by hanging off the edge by his hands. So I jump up and down on his fingers until he falls the six stories and lands softly in the bushes below. There's this guy just looking up at me! So that got me sooo mad that I looked for the biggest thing I could find, the refrigerator, and I pushed it over the balcony and it landed squarely on the guy, killing him. I was so worked up and upset that I had a heart attack and died on the spot!" St Peter said, "That was a bad day, come on into Heaven."

It wasn't long before a second guy approached the Gates of Heaven. St Peter asked him the same question and he responded, "Yes, I had a very bad day. Here I was doing my exercises up on my seventh floor balcony, bouncing on my mini trampoline and I bounced too high and went right over the edge. I was fortunate to be able to grab onto the edge of the balcony below me. I saw a guy approaching me and thought I was saved, but the idiot started jumping up and down on my fingers for no reason at all until I fell. I landed safely in the bushes below and while I was catching my breath, this animal throws a refrigerator at me and I'm instantly killed!" St Peter agrees that he had a really, really bad day and let him into Heaven.

Soon a third guy is limping towards the Pearly Gates and St Peter asks him the question... The guy answers, "I did have a very, very bad day. Picture this, here I am hiding naked in this refrigerator...."
