Ha! Made ya look! You thought it was going to be a Chebby! In the spirit of the recently completed "BattleFord" '57 Land speed car, I thought I try to do another '57 Ford for the Ohio Challenge. I have about 2 months to finish this, but I got a good start today, I had a snow day! Yay! NO School! (I'm the teacher). So, I spent all day cutting, grinding, measuring, chopping, filling and gluing and my evil plan is coming together. By day a mild mannered Dr. Jekyll family car, a 1957 Ford Custom 300 2 door sedan. At night the mad doctor gets out the blue wrench and the welder and it becomes; Mr. Hyde, a fuel injected, fire breathing, psychotic thrill ride filled with 427 cubic inches of Cammer powered terror! The rear wheels are moved forward, the front frame rails are replaces with rectangular tubes and the interior has been modified. Watch out Chevy drivers, the doctor is about to allow the inner beast to come to life!

Thanks guys! I hope it turns out as nice as the other '57. I might be able to get the body in primer tomorrow, we get together at the local hobbyshop on Friday nights and I usually can get a lot of sanding done then. Then tomorrow, it's back to the lab!

Well, the doctor was in the lab all day sanding parts and mapping out a strategy for the monster. I'm thinking ladder bars for the rear suspension and a straight axle on leaf springs in front. I shot some primer on the body and I will resand a reprime tomorrow. I hauled out a resin 427 SOHC from my stash and began mocking that up. I also did some work on the interior floor and mocked up the resin van seats from Competition Resins, I need to build some risers for the seats. More to come!

Thanks, James and everyone else. Kyle you are correct! It will have a 4 speed, I've always thought that drag cars are no fun unless they are a "hand shaker". I hope to get a lot done today, this is going to be a quick build.

Hmmm, a flip front end, sounds like a pain in the butt to engineer and make work correctly. So I'm on a short timeline, lots of scratchbuilding, and lots could go wrong. In other words, heck yeah, why wouldn't I?
