kilrathy10 Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Well, Boys, I've completed another one....I built the truck pretty much box stock with the only addition being the headache rack....A modified Revell Pete 359 unit.....The trailer is the new Moebius issue and a great one it is.....The only thing I'd like to point out is that it scales out to a couple feet short of 53', though.....Not a problem, but I'm wondering why....If you count the refer unit, it is 53' on the money, though....Anyway....Here it is....Thanks for looking......I had fun with this one.....No real issues to report, kit wise, anyway.....Any discrepencies were all me....
slusher Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Great looking combo JT, excellent work and fast also..
bismarck Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Nice rig JT. Did the decals for the trailer come with the kit? I seem to remember seeing those decals years and years ago( 70's) in another trailer kit. Really nice build man!!
tbill Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 i gotta say, i think of all the rigs/trailers you've done, this is my favorite. great looking combo.
Jim B Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 That's a great looking combination. The Moebius Great Dane trailer looks perfect behind the Volvo. Those decals are from the Italeri reefer trailer, right? Perfect for Texas.
Kostas Parchas Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Is it factory fresh, at the dealer ready to be delivered to the owner, cause I don't see any number plate on the bumper?!!! Nice one JT, both guy and dog should be proud of it. BTW, I like the idea using the Italeri decals on this trailer. Kostas.
kilrathy10 Posted February 21, 2014 Author Posted February 21, 2014 (edited) Thanks, Guys, for all the support you gave me on this project......I really appreciate it..... You're right, Kostas....I completely forgot about the license plates.....I was gonna dig the Texas plates out from the Pete 377 kit.....Totally forgot....Gotta hop onto that.... And I believe Kostas has answered you question, Kevin....Thanks so much for your interest..... And thank God for all of you....May He bless you, richly..... Edited February 21, 2014 by kilrathy10
towman1271 Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Another great job.. Shame you ran out of the orange. Something just doesn't seem right on the world without your signature color.. But as always you show us perfection!!!!
Custom Hearse Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 Looks great J.T.! I've been trying to find an Italeri VN770, but they are few and far between, and the prices are out of my price range. It's kind of a shame they didn't add an engine to the kit. That's interesting that the trailer is not correct. they need to correct that...
csxfan2001 Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 Good looking Rig and Trailer. The trailer should scale out to 25.44 in's, base on the woodland scenic model scaler app. Brian
kilrathy10 Posted February 23, 2014 Author Posted February 23, 2014 (edited) I must recant my statement about the trailer's length....It is difinitely spot on....I totally enjoyed building it....It's an awesome kit and I thank everyone from Moebius for putting out such awesome kits....Thanks, Brian, for setting me straight and making me go back and verify my measurements..... Edited February 23, 2014 by kilrathy10
tbill Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 it's all good JT, lack of orange paint made your math a little off, totally understandable
o-man Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 Sweet looking combo! A probably stupid question but here goes. Did you paint the top and doors of trailer silver?
kilrathy10 Posted February 23, 2014 Author Posted February 23, 2014 Yes, Sir, Oscar....I did....I wanted the front and back, that come plated, to match everything else....
csxfan2001 Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 That's OK , I thought the same thing when I built my first one
1959scudetto Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Nice rig JT. Did the decals for the trailer come with the kit? I seem to remember seeing those decals years and years ago( 70's) in another trailer kit. Really nice build man!! The trailer decals come from Italeri's 48-foot-reefer trailer
