cchapman195 Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 This Jeep was part of a 48 hour build of which I had completed in 32 hours with a lot of Coffee and bathroom breaks. It is painted with all Apple Barrel acrylic paint. Body was Jack-O-Lantern Orange. Interior was Dark Gray and Charcoal for the body accents. Different browns were used for the mud.
PappyD340 Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Very NICE Jeep, glad to see ya took it through the mud, looks great!
Chuck Most Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Third orange one I've seen... but the first orange one I've seen muddied up. Love it!
cchapman195 Posted February 28, 2014 Author Posted February 28, 2014 Thank you everybody! Chuck, orange is a factory color that does not get used much. I think that is why you see a lot of orange on the Jeeps. I chose it because the mud would show up best on it a opposed to a darker color. I almost had to wear shades while painting it as bright as it was lol.
Aaronw Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Looks good in orange. The dirt is very convincing as well. It's a neat kit, I hope Revell comes back to this one and offers it with some more options, a hardtop would be nice.
Danno Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Great looking Jeep, Chris. Looks good in both clean, new and properly-used modes. (Love the license!)
cchapman195 Posted March 1, 2014 Author Posted March 1, 2014 Thank you Aaron and Danno. I do wish it had more options like a motor lol. I do plan to build another one but put a motor in it.
Nacho Z Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 It looks good both clean and dirty! After seeing this built up a few times, I am liking it more and more. I may just have to pick on up.
cchapman195 Posted March 1, 2014 Author Posted March 1, 2014 It was a fun kit John. I plan to do another and add a motor to it. Lots you can do with it.
bondo bill Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 very cool- what gloss coat did you use over the apple barrel paint before you muddied it up
cchapman195 Posted March 2, 2014 Author Posted March 2, 2014 Bill, I used LA's Totally Awesome Mop & Shine acrylic floor polish on iy. It is a form of Future floor polish but MUCH cheaper with the same results. I get it at Dollar store or Dollar General. Thanks for looking.
