cobraman Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 First of all please excuse the showy photo's. I was looking for a different way to take model photo's. Not sure if I like it or not. Anyway, kit built with kit parts only. Paint is Tamiya Leaf Silver with Model Master Black Cherry fenders and orange wheels. All comments welcome. Thanks for looking.
TooOld Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Nice looking build Ray , I really like the silver and black colors ! I'm not too sure about using the display for taking photos though . . . I was thinking of doing the same thing but now that I see it I'm not too sure . Maybe without the chains , they are a bit distracting .
Ramfins59 Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 I think that looks pretty cool Ray. The car looks great and the display is not a bad idea... it reminds me of the old time car shows. I've thought about doing something like that myself with a bunch of mini trophies and a set of chain stanchions, mirror, tool box & tools, water, gas & oil cans etc. I'd probably skip adding any "Angel Hair"... LOL.
cobraman Posted March 8, 2014 Author Posted March 8, 2014 Thanks guys. Jury still out on the display.
slusher Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 I really like the model and display. Great colors and build..
bobthehobbyguy Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 I like the display and the model. Having a display adds another dimension.
cobraman Posted March 9, 2014 Author Posted March 9, 2014 Thanks for the input guys. I'm thinking a couple photo's with and a couple without display.
AC Norton Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 very, very nice 40 coupe there, ray. I like the car show gear, but agree with some of the other members that it takes away from your build a bit. color combo is tasty as well. regards, a.c.
Duntov Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Nice!!! Proof positive that with a little attention to detail and some focus the old AMT 40 Ford really is quite good!!!
W-409 Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 You did a great job with this one, Ray! I like the color combination a lot and those red Steelies are a perfect choice. I like the stance, too. The display is not bad, either, I might try that as well.
crazyjim Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Pretty cool 40, Ray. It looks terrific and the display enhances the model. I really like it.
Speedfreak Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Beautiful 40 Ford Ray, very nice. I think the display works well, something different.
rustybill1960 Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Old School Model Build/Display I like Your thinking Man! Very Classy, the chains are a bit much on shine, perhaps some heavy string, yarn something, go for a velour rope effect? The build is very sharp and clean Thank You for sharing Later Russ
vaughn Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Nice display and build. Like a car show award. Cool.
bondo bill Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 kool build & display-maybe for furture photos try some in the display and some outside- it reminds me of visiting detroit autorama as a kid
